Read moreDrupal meetup next week around the IDLELO conference in Accra, Ghana?
Hello Accrans
The IDLELO open source conference (http://idlelo.net) is taking place next week in Accra, Ghana.
I'm heading over there to present on mobile application development with Drupal and it would be great if any fellow Drupalistas would be up for a Drupal get-together over drinks.
As I'm obviously new in town, any suggestions on where said encounter could take place would be very welcome?
Hope to see you all next week. I'm very excited to be meeting the Ghana Drupal Community.
Cheers.

blockquote>Bad news is always good news for the press. And so Vaughan Pyre has decided to take advantage of this and create a web site that will aggregate bad news and weird happenings from all over the world. The content of the site will be entirely derived from RSS feeds from several sources; each feed being automatically fetched and its items displayed as individual articles on the web site. Vaughan's intention is to create a lot of self-updating web sites which he intends to populate with Google ads for site users to click and click so that he can make a lot of money.

Edited
I'm building my first Drupal website (http://www.district-a-development.com/) with Acquia Slate for a local base artist community group. Two changes I'd like to implement involve 1. front preface sidebar along with the banner image on which the mission statement is placed and 2. the left navigation menu.

What do you think about creating a drupal translation for Twi?
Would it just be for learning purposes or would people really use it?
I think it might first of all be a fun project to do in a group of people who want to learn something about drupal.

These are two new African projects that I am about to sign off . The first is self-descriptive and it is the online edition of a magazine named IT Business in Africa which is meant to be a meeting hub for CEOs, CIOs and all ICT professionals in Africa . The second is a public appraisal website for Nigerian leaders.

Hello All,
PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE OR TWO TO READ THIS
I am a high school student in American participating in the Google Highly Open Participation Contest 2007 (http://code.google.com/opensource/ghop/2007-8/) and am working on a task for Drupal. The task is to research how Drupal is used in Africa to demonstrate that Drupal is used worldwide.
I am posting this to you either because you are an Africa group, have an African Drupal site, or have been using Drupal for a while and are knowledgeable (or all of the above).
Read moreCape Verdean Site built with Drupal
Liberdadi.com is an internet project based on the Cape Verdean Island Santiago which is built with Drupal.
We successfully upgraded to Drupal 5.1 yesterday.
Liberdadi.com is multilingual and will be the first cape verdean website with creole interface and content.
We would like to translate everything into portuguese creole and then contribute the .po files to enable other cape verdean projects to set up a site in creole (which is in fact the national language).
Next steps are:
- Translation to creole (ongoing)
- Enhance the site with social network features
- Build a creole wiki
Liberdadi.com is a project of Delta Cultura Cabo Verde and we encourage our computer- and internet students to use Liberdadi.com to publish their stories and blogs. As soon as we generate enough content we will publish a wall newspaper in creole to contribute informations to the people which dont have internet access.
Any feedback and participation is welcome!
