This group is for anyone interested in booking systems. The main focus should be on whether it's feasible to come up with a booking system api for drupal that can then be extended for a myriad of different functionalities.
But, also to discuss any other booking type systems that exist for drupal, these may also offer the chance of integration into an api.
Bookings API and implementation module proposal
I want to create a Drupal module for visitors to book rooms or entire buildings. It's intended for buildings that have publicly-accessible meeting rooms, study rooms, or banquet halls. The module would be built to allow managers to use it in tandem with Google Calendar for greater flexibility: sometimes bookings are made or changed in-person, and Google Calendar is better suited for quick and visual edits. This would just be a single possible implementation; I intend to also create a generic booking API along with this.

How must the e-Commerce module be enhanced to be suited as a booking system?
Hi all,
I think the e-Commerce module is a good basis for a booking system. I would suggest, that we discuss how the e-Commerce module could be enhanced so that it can be used as a booking system.
For the use cases I can think of, a booking system consists of two parts:
- Data modelling and presentation (themeing) of the object/service/thing that can be booked. This can be done with CCK.
- Support of the booking workflow (booking, invoicing, get in contact with customers). Would be good if this was supported by e-Commerce.

First of all, my apologies to anyone who wanted to attend my presentation in Barcelona. I'd had a migraine building up all week, and my head decided to explode on Friday! We have created a booking engine for drupal
We have created a booking engine for Drupal. Currently it only supports accommodations, but Activities and tours, ski rentals and lift tickets are planned.
It is called OpenResort.. for more info visit www.openresort.org
Due to drupal liscensing issues we have not be able to release our full version of the module we have developed. It is only available as a custom configured, hosted and managed solution. BUT, we have released a basic version of our module which you can downolad from drupal.org.
