Long Island Drupal Meetup - Feburary 16th
Happy Valentines day! This months meetup is on the calendar. We will be having an open exploration session around the composer dependency manger. Some things I'd like to explore:

Using Composer to create a Drupal project.

Using Composer to bring in contributed modules.

Possibly using composer to run tests.

Better late then never, our first meetup of 2017 is on the calendar!
There are some really interesting development workflows emerging with the use of composer, which is the popular PHP dependency manager.
I'd like to explore how to use this to setup projects and some of the tools around composer for bringing in initial modules and such. Similar to what Drush Make does.

2016 Long Island Drupal Holiday Bash!
Join us at our normal time, Dec 21st from 7pm - 9pm for the end of year Drupal holiday bash! We have a fun night planned with a small informational session and giveaways. 2016 was an exciting year for Drupal and web development as a whole. We'd like to have a "year in review" and present some ideas for the year to come.

Our November meetup is on the calendar. We are meeting on our normal Wednesday.
I'd like to explore a "contrib" format. If you are interested in exploring ways to contribute to open source then this will be of interest to you. Lets take an issue out on Drupal.org and discuss and possibly implement a solution, together.
Some things we will review:
- Identifying novice issues in the issue queue.
- Reviewing the state of issues.
- How to develop a patch using git.
