Location Based Image Galleries?
I know it can be done, but I'm looking for the best way to achieve image galleries based on locations. Say I have 20 offices and I want a photo gallery for each office. Each office should be able to login and add photos only to their gallery. Each office's location should be visible on a map and have location info, and office details attached to it.
I have to give each office a unique login to manage their photos. Also, I would like to be able to see "All offices in CA" or "All offices in Zip Code 90210"
What's the best way to do this?
Thanks!

Read moreGeocode altitude of earth's surface from latitude and longitude
I'm seeking a service that returns altitude of the earth's surface above sea level from latitude and longitude. Even better would be a service that can return a polygon of coordinates at the same altitude within another polygon – although that's a big ask. Any ideas?
Read morecan gmap access info from a cck location field?
I know some people have used location, gmap and views to get a map of places that uses the location info associated with a node... but has anyone gotten it to work using a cck location field (and not the location directly associated with a node)?
I've been a bit spread out in the issues of location and gmap trying to sort it out...
Thanks! -CT
Read moreNew Module: Nice Map
I've just committed a new module http://drupal.org/project/nicemap that we've been working with internally here at Development Seed. The Module is basically just a WMS client, with a views plugin. So it allows you to use WMS servers, like mapserver and mapnik to generate your maps (try http://wms.jpl.nasa.gov/wms.cgi ). Hopefully this module will give people a useful alternative to google maps.
I've tested it successfully with lat/lon data stored in simple cck decimal fields and the location module, and I'd really like to get geo module support as well.

Hey all! I have made the following module: Gmap Field. I would be curious what people think of it and if it seems that useful.
I also wanted to discuss if this project should be merged or removed since it "sort of" duplicates the cck_map module in the gmap_addons module. I am very happy to merge and consolidate modules, but would like to discuss first. I have my own personal needs for creating the module, but I also think there is need in the community for the module (as noted in the project page).
Read moreAdvice needed for CRM-ish use case
Hi folks,
I'm trying to research the best way to accomplish this (hopefully in D6):
- Two CCK content types: Stores and Customers
- Store nodes and Customer nodes have addresses/locative information associated with them
- When a new customer node is added, there needs to be a geo-lookup function that assigns them a related store node that is closest to their location.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Read moreIs possible to add a map to draw a route
Hello Folks
I build a new site to enable people to request or offer rides in Costa Rica, ride.alapar.net I've a custom content type to store rides, but I'm wondering if it's possible to add a map to enable users to draw a simple route ( lines) and store in database, in this way people could check if a ride is accurate for him/her.
Best regards

Read moreAssign regions (not points) to a node, then search for which nodes' regions a point is in
I feel sure that all or almost all of what I need is already available, but so far I can't find it. And I am willing to have a go at coding whatever is missing.
I have a custom node type which represents a human language. So I want to define what regions a language is spoken in. They can be quite vague: circles would do, or polygons. But in any case, we must assume that a language is spoken in one or more regions, and individual points make little sense.
