Are you a Portland-area Drupal 7 Contributor (or Drupal 7 Contributor from anywhere planning to attend the PDX Drupal 7 Release Party)?

Please, sign up if you're planning to attend and, whether or not you can make it, tell us about your contributions here.

Contributors include: core developers, documentation team, markup marines, infrastructure team, test authors, patch reviewers, usability team, accessibility team, Drupal 7 contributed module and theme maintainers, translators, and anyone who's filed an issue to help with Drupal 7.

At Brewpal last night, a D7 party plan was formed

At the Drupal Release Party on January 7 at 7:00 at the Lucky Lab on NW 19th and Quimby, we'll be drawing for door prizes at 8, 9, and 10 pm. Win books, umbrellas, and Drupal 7 on a stick (for Windows). If you have schwag that you'd like to contribute, let us know! And if you can put together a USB-key install of a MAMP Stack and Drupal 7, we can give winners the option of Drupal 7 on a stick for OSX, too. I'll bring extra USB keys.

  • From 7:00 - 8:00, halstead will help folks set up to run a local copy of Drupal on their laptops. Various contributors and enthusiasts will be doing laptop demos throughout the night.
  • Sometime between 8:00 - 9:00, BenK will lead a Drupal trivia contest, with more prizes to be won.
  • We have the space until closing time and there's space all night long to just hang out and talk.

Some people have asked, and yes, we encourage you to bring Drupal-curious friends and acquaintances! No experience necessary. If you are a D7 contributor, sign up here and let us know. We want to celebrate the local contributor community.

Thanks to jami for coordinating Yolink beer sponsorship! Thanks to sarah_p, mikey_p, _double, halstead, illepic, myusic, BenK, and jhedstrom for contributions to planning and execution!

Another (awesome!) door prize in the mix

We have a velvet artist on staff at our company (who doesn't?), and he's painted us a few velvet Druplicons (!) to give away at the Drupal 7 release parties we'll be attending, including Portland. I wish I could win the thing, but I will try my best not to cheat.

Excited to buy everyone some drinks!

New to Drupal community but have helped to launch other open-source sites and have found a home with Drupal and the wonderful Portland community around it. Currently managing a Drupal project on D7 and excited for launch!

I contributed many patches to Drupal 7, most of them fixing classic WTFs and regressions from D6. I also wrote many of the SimpleTests for the new File API. I wrote other SimpleTests for API functions and random core-modules such as Poll. In addition to core patches, I committed 2 of my modules (Video Upload and Session API) to the D7CX pledge, so they will have supported releases the day D7 is released.

I have a handful of small

I have a handful of small patches in Drupal 7, but I really can't remember what any of them are (nothing memorable or big).

Not much on my end. There's a

Not much on my end. There's a functional port of the MailChimp module (hat tip to BenK) and a couple of D7 Views patches. And, of course, playing/testing with each of the beta and release candidates.

So far, I've only updated a module to work on D7, very much assisted by the Coder module (many thanks, duellj!).

I did about 80 Drupal Voices interviews with various core developers for Lullabot, and have been working on continuing the Lullabot Learning Series training videos, which have helped to train some of the core developers to make contributions -- including Jen Simmons, who lead the Bartik default theme effort. We also recently launched http://Drupalize.me, which has all of our Drupal training videos that I work on for my day job. We just released a D7 Overview video featuring webchick, quicksketch, eaton, jjeff and myself that's free for the next week: http://drupalize.me/videos/overview-drupal-7

Did a lot of work on the D7 ports of Private Message, Userpoints, and User Relationships. Working on those contrib module ports resulted in a few bug fixes to Drupal 7 itself.

See everyone at the party tonight! :-)

Drupal 7 release party photos

grantkruger's picture

For those of you who are interested, I took 66 photos during our Drupal 7 release party, this past Friday. Theresa, Dan, Jiro (I believe) and myself were the last ones to leave at about 12:30 (yes, they had to throw us out as it was closing time). Anyway, the photos are posted on Picasa, here: http://bit.ly/h64aH7
