Hola to all. My wife and I have created a website (only in spanish for now) for our church in México (Ensenada, Baja) using Drupal about 10 months ago, but have just found this group. The website is at www.accioncristiana.com.mx. We built it using Drupal 6. Its been on ongoing project for us (she is a graphic designer and I have experience with webdev) and been building it fairly often since we started. For now, we are using several very useful modules like cck, views, google maps embed, bible, embedded media field, etc. We hope that it will grow over the next few years to be a really useful resource for helping the church community grow.

What did you use for the sitemap at the bottom? And did your wife do the bg image? It's pretty sweet!
Sitemap and bg image
Hola Branjawn, actually the sitemap at the bottom is a plain static "page" type content, after creating the page I just used views to spit it out on my footer region. As for the bg image, that is work done by my wife. She used a very nice pic taken by a friend of ours, and used some photoshop magic to enhance it... Thanks for the props! :)
I used a footer block
For one of my sites, I did a sitemap using a footer block. See http://www.fumcsantarosa.org for the sitemap.

use MENU BLOCK module, create footer menu block for 2 levels
modify css to support the formatting in columns
