Start:
2011-02-07 18:00 - 20:00 America/Denver
Event type:
User group meeting

This is a cross post of the Boulder Semantic Web meetup group. They are interested in Drupal's implementation of RDFa and are gathering to discuss. They are looking for people in the Drupal community that would like to present. This is a great opportunity to expand the local community and I look forward to seeing you there!

I just came across a nice write up at http://ubelly.com/2011/01/an-introduction-to-rdfa-and-the-semantic-web/ which references these slides http://levelbusiness.com/blog/mark-birbeck/2011/01/10/drupal-7-rdfa

@scor excellent ... thanks

@scor excellent ... thanks for pointing these resources out! This will be a good opportunity to not only learn more about rdf but help expand the concept of Drupal to an audience of non-drupal developers and business people. It should be a great event.

@scor ... any chance you

@scor ... any chance you would be interested in doing a remote presentation for the group?

Here's a recent podcast

@scor Thanks again for the

@scor Thanks again for the information. I just gave the presentation and it was incredibly well received. The nicest part about the presentation is the people that were in attendance understood the semantic web inside and out do a degree that was mildly intimidating. Each of them had a specific interest in RDF spanning the gamut from document storage to health care systems. They are incredibly excited about using Drupal to serve as an interface to the data their systems generate and view it as a single piece of the puzzle. I learned as much from them as they did from me. I view this as an opportunity to learn, to teach, and to cross pollenate Drupal with other non-Drupal developers. This has lead to the next steps for their group http://www.meetup.com/Boulder-Semantic-Web-Meetup/events/16488336/

Here's a quote from one of the attendees: 'I am an entrepreneur trying to build Semantic Web/Knowledge Base/ Artificial Intelligence tools to help news/media industry. Drupal "gets" Semantic Web, so I am very interested in integrating my ontologies into the platform.'

I expect to see a few of that group at our next Drupal meetup and will be attending their meetings to further understand this technology. Thanks for all of your work and contributions!
