Anyone from our group going to the next Drupalcon? I'm thinking about it. Should be a pretty expensive ticket though.

Hungary is too far for me!
The next, close Drupalcon is likely to be in America or Canada early next year. I suggest that people start saving for it now. It's a MUST-DO for any one wishing to make a career out of Drupal. Once the details come in I suggest we start working on carpools [if it's close] and room sharing near the facility.

Past Drupalcons
Doug,
I think you mentioned going to the last drupalcon, would you be willing to give a ballpark on the cost for admission? I would love to go to the next US/Canadian based Drupalcon, so if an Indiana group were to plan something I would have to really consider going.

$395 is SOOOOO LOOOOOOW!
$395!
It's getting there and surviving there that costs, not the cost of Drupalcon.
Agreed. I went to Boston
Agreed. I went to Boston and found that the conference itself was a great value. It's the flight, lodging, etc. that really zapped me.

Chicago is MUCH closer than Hungary?!?!
Who wants to go to Chicago with me?
http://www.hostingcon.com/2008/ is July 29th and 30th [mon and tues] at the beautiful Navy Pier in Chicago.
Amazon http://groups.drupal.org/user/106 is asking for volunteers for http://www.hostingcon.com/2008/
I'm on board to go.
Here's the cool thing...
We can take a round trip bus ride straight from Indy to Chicago for $30 to $40 bucks each!
So who's game? We just need someone who understands what Drupal is, Why SO MANY companies are using it, and why WE use it.
We don't have to go into the database abstraction layer or the Drupal-API. We just need to know WHY we love what we love.
I'm considering going up Sun and returning late Tuesday.
I'm also considering just making a Day-Trip out of it and leave early Tues and come back late Tues.
PLZ reply and let me know if you want to join. One day? 2? 3? I'm wide open.
Doug, Would this involve
Doug, Would this involve manning a booth at this conference? Basically representing Drupal there? Just checking.

4 hour shifts
Yes Tony, this would involve manning a booth at this conference, and representing Drupal there.
We're going to have some Drupal Promotional Material. A banner, some laminates, etc.
The larger discussion is happening at http://groups.drupal.org/drupal-marketing.
Kieran and the gang are asking for 4 hour shifts with the exception of SETUP which is 1hr and the extra 30min at the end of the day.
Would you [or any one] want to join me for a day or maybe 2 out there?
Here's a rough copy/paste of the schedule. Let me know if I can put any of you down on some of these slots.
