Drupal Specific WYSIWYG

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Personally I think a Drupal specific solution would be very beneficial (if done correctly). I had begun development on this solution which can be found at http://drupal.org/project/editor

It is nearing the first beta release and is fairly functional for the most part (I currently use it on a few sites), although there is a VERY large todo list. Unfortunately I have next to no time to work on this module at the moment but if anyone is interested let me know.

I'm not a code guy but I can do testing for you. Also please do not forget to add RTL support.

Demo?

Tj,

you're welcome to join our efforts in the Wysiwyg project. It seems you have great skills in this area, so it would be a pain if we would duplicate efforts. Specifically broken-down to your "(Drupal) Editor" project, the goal of Wysiwyg (Editor) module is that everything besides your JavaScript for the actual editor itself (i.e. initialization, plugin API, visibility API, etc.) will be provided by a central API (for any client-side editor).

wysiwyg_editor's code is still pretty TinyMCE-focused, but we're working hard on removing this limitation and implementing the badly needed "editor"-layer.

I have no objections to that

I have no objections to that at all. To be quite honest my really quick implementation of display/configuration settings for Editor were just very quick mockups allowing me to use Editor on a few production sites of mine so I can see how well it works. Either way it still has alonnnng ways to go but integrating with the wysiwyg project would be great. I do not have time to work on either at the moment but I will keep that in mind! thanks and good luck to everyone working on the project.
