I've created an Organization on github for our projects that we would like to work on with each other. It can be found here: https://github.com/lvdug ... please comment with your github username so I can add you as a member of the organization.
Here we will be able to keep repositories of our project. The first one should be the code for: http://www.lasvegasdrupal.com/ ... This will provide an opportunity for learning how to include a source control workflow into your projects. I did sort of an intro to git with Drupal during my very "ad-hock" presentation at the last meeting. I can show this process in a more complete and prepared manner at a meeting in the future.
Thanks, let's get some projects going!

user name
Thanks Casey,
As for user name "tgriswold" works best. I think i will tattoo it on the inside of my arm so I don't have to remember too many different IDs. I will have to figure out what/how to use github, but that is all part of the fun.
I appreciate the app intros you made last meeting... so far they have only cost me 3 days :). I haven't tried Aegir yet but have spent more time than I wanted trying to get multisite working with Atrium as the add-on site. I finally got multisite working and Atrium almost working. I have not been able to figure out how to get images to display. They load but don't display. I think it has to do with the fact that Atrium is in the subdomain, even though I have it as a full install not a code share. Both group photos and site logo upload into sites/default/files while user photos upload into sites/default/files/pictures, I can see them in the directories (with Zilla) and permissions seem ok, but they don't display. just a red X for group and user photos and nothing for the logo photo, although it does remove the default logo image. It is a virgin install but in a subdomain so i was guessing it has to do with the path.
I haven't been able to find anything on drupal.org or Atrium. If you or anyone have any thoughts, please give me a call 208-318-3144.

Hey Tim, I added you to the
Hey Tim, I added you to the https://github.com/lvdug organization, but it looks like tgriswold is not a github user yet... you have to get a github.com account so that you can clone, pull and push code to and from the repo.
As for your Atrium troubles, I would love to help you out. These types of things can be caused by the different ways that different hosts are set up with their different linux distros, etc. The best way to trouble shoot this is through screen sharing. This gives me an excuse to try out this new service that I heard about today: https://join.me/z3cka-meeting let me know what time works for you and we jump on the online meeting.
Talk to you tomorrow.
time
Thanks, any time will do as far as i am concerned. just give me a call on my cell 208-318-3144 whenever you have time or to set up a time.

let's share screens:

That was fun. Let's do it
That was fun. Let's do it again some time. For all those out there kicking the tires on Open Atrium. Be sure to have clean urls working - http://drupal.org/getting-started/clean-urls ... things won't work right without it.
Cheers.
signed up
I just signed up for github under my usual handle: rayman22201.
I have been busy with midterms, but I am starting to play with git a bit.
I will probably start doing revision control from here on out lol.
take it easy,

Okay, you've been added to
Okay, you've been added to the organisation. You will see there is nothing in the repo yet. Once we get access to the codebase on the current http://lasvegasdrupal.com we will commit that code to the repo and start working with it.
Oooh! Oooh! Me, too! Me, too!
It turns out I setup a GitHub account a while ago but totally forgot about it. My user name there is...drum roll, please...oadaeh.
I actually searched for you
I actually searched for you and added you already: https://github.com/lvdug
Jason, did Chris git you FTP
Jason, did Chris git you FTP or SSH access to the Media Temple server that http://lasvegasdrupal.com it is currently hosted? Also, what kind of service is it? Shared or VPS (gs), (dv) or (ve)? ... I assume that it is not a Nitro server...
No and no
He did give me access, but we were never able to get it working, so I never actually got connected.
I don't know what service the site is being hosting on.
Okay, let's ping him and ask
Okay, let's ping him and ask him about it. Really, to make this worth sharing with the group is if the current host has ssh & git and will be able to communicate with github. So, once we hear from Chris (purrin) about the host, etc, we can go from there. If the host turns out to be on a "shared" environment, I will be happy to donate some server space on one of my VPS accounts.
It will be a great learning experience to upgrade the site from d6 to d7 while in the context of source control and git.
same here
made an account 2 days ago i think.. hehe.. username is rlynjb.. still playing around with it.. its my first time using github
You are all set. Welcome.

Okay, you have been added. Again, there is no code yet, but this will be a great way for us to share code.
