Primary Topic/Presentation

We currently don't have anything set for the primary discussion topic, so we will either take suggestions here of things everyone would like to discuss, or can simply have a good free-form discussion during the evening, and tackle topics and issues as they arise. But if someone has a topic that you'd like to present, post it here, and we can make it happen!

If you have any specific questions for the group, feel free to post them in reply to this thread, that way anyone with experience with the topic can have a little prep time to evaluate potential solutions.

Please make sure to use the "Sign Up" button for this event so that we may continue to know how many users will be in attendance. This is really important as the group grows so we know when we will have to look for a bigger location to hold us all!!

Dinner & Drinks

Since this meetup is going to fall on St Patrick's Day, it is likely going to be that we need to break out early and go to Pochito's down the hall from the meetup as getting into any other decent place is going to be tough.

After each meetup, we depart from the "structured" environment, and continue our discussions over beers and/or food at Pochito's Mexican Restaurant, Murphy's Tap Room, or possibly the Strange Brew. We look forward to seeing you all there!!

topics for Thursday

With members returning from DrupalCon, I'm sure everyone would be interested in hearing about that.

And if time allows, I'd be interested in hearing from anyone with experience with the SimpleNews module http://drupal.org/project/simplenews.
I have a project I'm bidding on that would want to make use of SimpleNews, but I've never tried it.

Were wide open for discussion...

We'll be wide open again to discuss whatever comes up and go from there. Seems like we've been very good lately at getting a good list of questions going and keeping things moving.

I haven't personally used SimpleNews, so hopefully someone else has, or has some experience with something of a similar solution.

And just to reiterate what I posted in the meetup details:

Since this meetup is going to fall on St Patrick's Day, it is likely going to be that we need to break out early and go to Pochito's down the hall from the meetup as getting into any other decent place is going to be tough.

We don't have to break early, but I think getting into any of the usual locations is going to be close to impossible, and louder than usual even, and since Pochito's seems to close at 9, we'll need to probably get in there by 8 to grab some food & drink if we so decide. I think we can take a vote at the start of the meetup to determine if we either continue discussion over drinks or skip them all together. :)

I've played with Simplenews

I've played with Simplenews but it was a while ago and ended up not using it because of shared hosting limits. I think breaking a little early and meeting at Pochito's is a good idea, I have a feeling Strange Brew will be standing room only. I would be interested in talking about how to set a dashboard like they have here on Drupal.

Acquia had a web presentation today to talk about their new Drupal cloud hosting platform. Anyone catch it? (I came in late)

Maybe worth a couple minutes discussion?
