Scott Nelson and I, Malcolm van Delst, would like to invite you to join us at a bi-monthly co-working event.
Bi-monthly Community Co-working Thursdays will take place on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, from 11 am to 5 pm, starting on Apr. 14, 2011. Bi-monthly Community Co-working Thursdays will take place at DharmaLab, 1814 Pandora St. (about 2 blocks east, and 2 blocks north, of Commercial Drive and Hastings Street - see map at bottom).
Who should come? Just about anybody. We're not limiting this to the Drupal community but since we both work with Drupal, this is where we're starting.
Why come? As home-based freelancers, we understand the need to share ideas, techniques, job and contract leads, marketing and business intelligence and a host of other information and real space data a person working in an office shares on a day to day basis - but we don't want to work in traditional offices! By attending Community Co-working Thursdays, freelancers, small business people, craftspeople and anyone looking for a fresh perspective can get that in an environment that has new faces, new ideas and new projects built into it's structure.
What's it cost? Nothing, though if you are willing to help others, and ask for help, that would be awesome.
Anything else? If you are working on a computer, you might want to bring extension cords or powerbars, but these are not required. If you are working on a non-computer-based project, you should bring any supplies and tools that you will need. Bringing snacks to share is encouraged, though not required. Lastly, coffee, tea and refreshments will be available for purchase.
Hope to see you soon!
Scott and Malcolm

Awesome!
I was just lamenting last week, that the bit of effort I gave to starting some coworking never took off, so this is awesome!!! I often work from home on Thursdays, so perhaps I will be able to join on occasion, if I don't have client calls scheduled! ;)
ps. (The date on this event has the 15th entered, but I think it's supposed to be the 14th?)
Date fixed - thanks!
Thanks for your eagle eyes! It would be awesome if you could join us when you can!

I totally can (and do!), as long as there's somewhere relatively quiet to sneak to, and bandwidth!
Quiet and bandwidth
There's def. quiet places to go; bandwidth has never been a problem before. Scott?
Bandwidth, etc.
Yes there is my private office space in the back you're welcome to use if need be. It has multiple ethernet ports and is kept toasty warm from a pair of bitcoin miners.
I supply multiple wifi signals that are connected to a Shaw business (15down/1up) account. I've never had in trouble using skype.

Hi Scott and Malcolm, I just
Hi Scott and Malcolm, I just noticed this event is appearing every day on the groups.drupal.org calendar:

Unfortunately, you have to make a separate entry for each Thursday. But it also means you can get folks to sign up on the actual event too.
