Greetings, all! I'm new to Drupal, working to redesign Worthington Libraries' Web site and migrate to Drupal in the process.
I've been looking for some good training sessions as I get up to speed and I've heard very good things about Lullabot. I keep hoping they'd offer sessions a little closer to home than the upcoming sessions in Portland, OR and New Orleans, so I contacted Lullabot to ask and the reply I received was:
We don't have any plans currently to do training in Ohio, but are always willing to look at new cities and venues.
If you're interested in a workshop in Ohio, I would recommend filling out our survey here:
http://www.lullabot.com/training/survey
Is anyone else in the area interested in some local Lullabot workshops? If so, maybe you could fill out the survey, too, and list Columbus as a place you'd like to see training.

From what I understand there
From what I understand there trainings are pretty awesome and pretty pricey, at least for our Ohio rates. What I'd like to do is for us to have a meet-up of our local community and start talking about some ways we can collaborate and share information more. I want to set-up a meeting for sometime in September, what do you or others think ?
Thanks for your reply! I'd
Thanks for your reply! I'd definitely attend a meet-up.
I 'ld do a meetup
I would be in for a meetup for sure.
I'm in downtown Columbus, so anywhere in the region works for me
I'd be interested in a meetup
I'd be interested in a meetup as well. I'm in Dublin, but pretty much anywhere in Columbus would work. I think it would be a great opportunity to meet & collaborate with others in the area.

Myself and two others in my business would be available to meet up for such a cause.

Schedule a date and time. Sounds like the community is getting big enough that we should start having regular meetings.
KittySunShine, do you think you could arrange space at on of the Worthington Library branches? Do they have open wifi?
meetup place
That's a great idea Pat. Worthington is a reasonable location for everyone who has responded so far. If the library idea doesn't pan out, I think some Panera Bread restaurants have large-group rooms, and I know all their locations have free wifi.
meeting at the library
Yes, Worthington Libraries has free wifi, and meeting here is a great idea! Unfortunately, both our large Meeting Rooms are currently closed as we complete renovations and won't be available for public use until October.
If someone is interested in scheduling some events here in the future, you can make a request online to use a Meeting Room: http://www.worthingtonlibraries.org/library/MeetingRoomForm.cfm (Scroll to the bottom to accept the policy.)

Glad to see all of the responses, I think setting up something at the main library downtown. The auditorium was booked for all of September so what do people think of Tuesday September 9th at 7:00pm at the 3rd floor board room, it has wifi and I have reserved it. I'll add it as an event to the calendar.
Works for us. Thanks
