Hi all,
The Computer Professionals' Union (www.cp-union.com) and Collectivetech.org is organizing another Codesprint. This time we will focus on module development.
Tentatively we are scheduling this event on Sept 14, 2nd Sunday of September. The Kubo will again be the venue. This will be part of Software Freedom Tour of CPU.
We are still organizing topics for the day. So if you already have something in mind, email rbahaguejr [at] gmail [dot] com.
We aim to learn from each other on the basics, best practices of module development and create a simple module that will be relevant to the community or even just for a small group of users.
Pizzas, coffee, drinks are welcome during the Codesprint.

That one is a nice idea indeed, having a code sprint in which the group would focus more about module development...but anyway matagal pa nman un eh, how i wish i would be able to attend Friday's meet up, if am only there in Manila i would come so that i could also share something for the group...

Wishing that there will be a Codesprint like this here in Cebu. Hope some guys here in the group can organize Codesprint here in Cebu. By the way, there is a book that discusses Drupal Module Development.
This is good reference in creating module in Drupal. And this is available already in Amazon store. :)

I agree, that book is a nice tutorial for everybody who wants to contribute modules in Drupal community back...I already finish reading that book 2 months ago, and it is one of our reference when we make our dynamic display block module...U can buy that book for almost $30+, but we get it for free...Sana meron din tayo Codesprint not only focusing ng venue in Manila, kc medyo malayo n dun eh, maybe we can make it in either Cebu and Bocolod...

I'm up for a codesprint or even some kind of meetup here in Cebu if someone can organize it :) I use Apress's Pro Drupal Development as reference for module development, very invaluable.
