What's my background in Drupal?
Used at University at Buffalo for 3 sites and 1 intranet. At UB the sites are not actually drupal because the campus server can't handle drupal, so I had drupal installed on an internal server where content is managed and "pushed" to the campus server as flat files and a suite of PHP code reconstructs the site there from the flat files - yes stupid but the only way given the infrastructure.
Now just use it for my personal site. I have a module called sitebrowser and I suck with CVS.

Hi All.
Where do you live?
I live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
What's your Drupal.org user name?
dedellinger
What's your background in Drupal?
I started using Drupal in April of 2008 really by chance and necessity. I
fiddled with Drupal (6.2 at the time) and Joomla 1.5 for about 5 months and have
finally chosen Drupal as the CMS of choice.
What are you doing or hope to do with Drupal?
I use Drupal to build out sites for my company BeachSales.com (in the process of
converting some sites from Joomla to Drupla now). Drupal seems to be a great
platform for quickly deploying content and functionality which mean you can
quickly get an idea or concept online in a stable and flexible way. I hope learn
more about more complicated modules and learn more about custom theming.
Drupal Sites I've Worked On:
All the sites are in Drupal 6.x and all seem to be continual works in progress

What's your background in Drupal?
I've been learning Drupal for at least two years and 11 weeks (according to drupal.org).
What are you doing or hope to do with Drupal?
I hope that RTPnet will be able to provide Drupal and CiviCRM hosting services for nonprofit organizations. I have not developed a CiviCRM site yet, but I have a few Drupal sites.
Drupal Sites I've Worked On:
http://nccommunities.org/ : A learning space for nonprofits. One of RTPnets goals for NCCommunities is to "Create and nurture an online community to find expertise and help with tools for community building and engagement." There is very little content in the present site. I need groups with forums for this site. No current needs for private groups for this site.
http://test.nccommunities.org/ : Test site for NCCommunities.org. People can use this site to explore CiviCRM sample data — login as demo with password demo. There are instructions for exploring sample data at http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Exploring+Sample+Data.
http://www.ibiblio.org/comphist/ : Information and memories that record the history of computing on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. I'm using image galleries for this site and I'm using blogs for "Memories." I need one private page for collecting contact information for oral histories.
I've set up a few intranets, mostly for RTPnet board members and advisors who are helping define NCCommunities:
http://ncla.nccommunities.org/ : An information exchange site for literacy agencies across the state of North Carolina. We'd like to have a private group, with forums, for Executive Directors. I've had some problems with privacy.
http://oclc.nccommunities.org/ : An information exchange site for The Orange County Literacy Council volunteers, staff, and board of directors. Just getting started.
http://scrapexchange.nccommunities.org/ : An information exchange site for The Scrap Exchange board of directors, staff, and friends. Just getting started.
http://huntresses.org/ : An information exchange site for members of the Huntress family. I'm using image galleries for this site and blogs for "Current activities."
Topics I Could Present On:
Drupal Intranets
CiviCRM
Topics I'm Interested In:
CiviCRM
Organic groups and og_forum: I'd like to have someone check my setup and see what should be changed.
Image galleries: I'd like to have someone check my setup and see what could be improved.
Taxonomy: Is it of any value on a small intranet? How should we be using it on NCCommunities?
Views: Do I need to learn about Views?
Themes: Is there any reason not to leave my simple sites just using the default theme?
Newsletters: Options for doing them with Drupal.
Are you interested in offering support for other people in the group?
Yes. We could use the NCCommunities site for this, if that would be useful.

A couple of training classes -- including John Kenyon's 11/2/06 Drupal & CiviCRM class (was it really that long ago?)
What Drupal sites have you worked on?
None. Have been living in the open source world since 1982. Poked at Drupal, Joomla (Mambo, then) and WordPress in mid-2005 - have been using WordPress since (a dozen or so sites; from v1.2 to v2.6). Haven't hit the wall yet, but I know the day will come.
What are you doing or hope to do with Drupal?
I'm the default support for a local organization that needs a revamped website and an easier way to manage its membership data. It may be what gets me to take Drupal for a test drive.
