stuck with something, looking for help from a freelancer

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hey everyone,

I am making a site where the client wants to be able to create galleries and to bulk upload photos (sometimes 100 at a time!) into them. The gallery then needs to have cooliris/piclens ideally, or maybe some type of lightbox. They want their visitors to have access to the original image too, as they sometimes need to see little details in the photo. That makes 3 different presets easily available, on top of the bulk upload and the easy display of large galleries (this is why we're talking of cooliris, but feel free to suggest).

Also, there needs to be a relationship created between the galleries and a content type, but that should not be a big deal.

I have a few hundred dollars to provide, however, the budget is small. I did not realise that Drupal did not have an easy way to bulk upload...

I am working with D6.

I tried many different options and can let you know about the results of that. Gallery Assist (http://drupal.org/project/gallery_assist) coupled with Image FUpload (http://drupal.org/project/image_fupload) gets me super close to what I'm after, but the display sucks...

Just to let you know, they are now using http://gallery.menalto.com and gallery remote on their website. They would love to have the same system. Drupal also has an integration for that, but I was not able to make it work and display properly...

Please get in touch with me if it sounds like something you could help with easily and in a timely fashion.

Thanks and have a great day!

Sébastien.

Thanks for the answer! Could you tell me more? Where do I find the code? Does it work with Drupal?

Gallery 3

I'm assuming they're using Gallery <= 2. I've been using Gallery 3 (a complete re-write) for personal stuff, and it's fantastic for this. The uploader allows for any number of photos at a time. The default is 5, but you can change this in the advanced settings. It's slightly flaky, but if things don't upload on the first try, they do on the second. The UI & just about everything else is way better than G2.

Are you using it with Drupal?

Are you using it with Drupal? According to http://drupal.org/node/526452 there is no module to connect G3 and Drupal.
I tried installing G2, but ran into problems at some point. Don't remember exactly what, but I think it has to do with the display after uploading the pictures...
See, with the different options I've tried, either I am able to upload,, or am able to display nicely, but haven't been able to do both so far...

Would love the help if you integrated Drupal and Gallery 3... Let me know!

Sorry

Nope, I haven't integrated the two. Playing with Gallery is one of the few things I do outside of the Drupalverse. ;)

Any progress?
