Instead of a main 20 minute presentation this month, we'll be featuring 5 minute DrupalCamp Colorado session previews and lightning presentations. If you're planning to present a session at DrupalCamp Colorado, this would be a great opportunity to tell others about your session, give a brief teaser and receive feedback from those who plan to attend. Even if you're not presenting a session at DrupalCamp Colorado, but have something you'd like to share or present, we'd love to have you join in and present at the meetup. Please leave a comment below if you'd like to present and we'll work out the presentation order.
Following the lightning sessions, we'll hold the normal question and answer time. This month we'll try to have a real call-in system in place for those watching the broadcast or online.
Rackhouse Pub is at 208 S Kalamath St. Denver, CO 80223 (map)

I can do five minutes...
...without causing a riot or putting an audience to sleep (or both, simultaneously -- no small feat, that).
But instead of the topic I proposed for a Drupalcamp session, I'd like to update a wonderful article by Angie Byron (webchick) about migrating external data sources in Drupal ( http://www.lullabot.com/articles/drupal-data-imports-migrate-and-table-w... ). Version 2 of the Migrate module requires sub-modules for mapping, and is not very accessible without actually getting into it.
Lightning or no?
databoy, is that something you could present in 5 minutes, or would you need more time?
That sounds interesting,
That sounds interesting, especially since I did a Migrate 1 presentation last year and I know there's quite a bit that's changed for Migrate 2. Were you intending to do this as a 5 minute lightning talk? I'm a bit concerned that 5 minutes wouldn't be nearly enough time to cover the important aspects of Migrate, let alone walk through the process. If you're open to it, I'd love to schedule this as the main presentation (15-20 minutes) for the June meetup.
June it is, then!
It seemed to me like a five-minute presentation since Angie had done most of the work;-) And the "migrate example" module had a finished sub-module. But, that works -- I can wait until June...
How's this:
FIVE-MINUTE DRUSH MAKE-A-PALOOZA!
It's just one text file, but with "Drush" and "Drush Make" it converts an empty webroot into a directory chock full of Drupal-y goodness!
UPDATE: I saw that jcfiala is doing a presentation on Migrate 2 at DrupalCamp, so I'll pass (it being so fresh in everyone's memory).
Drupal hosting security considerations
I could do a lightning presentation based on this recent post of mine:
http://blog.brad.jones.name/2011/04/48/simple-security-drupal-database-s...
Basically, some thoughts about storing DB settings in plaintext, and options for obscuring that info from curious eyes on your host machine.
Drupalcamp Colorado Preview
Part of the point of doing the Drupalcamp Colorado Preview is to help folks who proposed sessions get some time in front of an audience. It helps prepare the material and helps the session selection committee get a sense of whether or not to include your session.
So, if you've proposed a session and haven't presented at a Drupalcamp before or it's a session you haven't given before consider giving the session at this meetup.

Introduction to Views: Build a slideshow
I've proposed doing the same presentation I did last year at DrupalCamp updated for D7. I could do a five minute overview for the group at the meeting if you like.
I will be there and can do a
I will be there and can do a 5 minute chat on what we will talk about I Cant Believe Its Not Code - Making Views That Rock!
Thanks,

Modern Web Typography
I can do a 5 minute preview of my Modern Web Typography session.
Looks like my session was not chosen for DrupalCamp
So, I won't plan to do a 5-minute presentation at the DBUG meeting.
Are all the presentation slots filled?
I see your point (I still wish I could see your proposal, even a minified version), but greggle's comment above would imply that there is still selection to be done? I have no idea if that's the case or not, so I hope to see an answer here!
Save for next month
I believe presentation selection is done, but if we don't have enough DrupalCamp previews, we may have time for other presentations. And there's always next month.
Is there a list of who's
Is there a list of who's presenting tomorrow? Just wondering if I should prep or no...
Here's the most recent
Here's the most recent list:
That gives us 30 minutes (Greg will be cramming his 3 previews into a double block for 10 minutes) of presentations and some time in between for the presenters to solicit feedback from the group. So i think we'll be good with time and I'd like to be sure to leave plenty of space for Q&A.
Brad, If you're ok holding off until the June meetup, I'd like to have you present then.
Yeah no problem at all -
Yeah no problem at all - Drupalcamp previews make more sense this month anyway. If June isn't lightning format, I have a few ideas for longer-form presentations too that might work. We can work it out over the next month. Thanks.
My comment was based on
My comment was based on incorrect beliefs. We had planned to use the user group meetings as a preview, but that wasn't possible due to non-overlapping schedules. Whoops.
