Automated Member Notifications

Looking for recommended stack of mods in D6 for developing new fields (including date type) and setting up automated email notifications. For example: Member notifications of upcoming subscription expiration (t-60/30/7/1 days), grace period renewal.

CCK and Date should provide fields... although, you might want to consider ubercart, since it handles memberships/subscriptions and can cover the expiration and notifications. And assuming that people are paying for membership, it would also cover online registration.
