I wanted to get a thumbs up / thumbs down reaction from the group on the below proposed topic for our October meeting.
This topic is geared toward Drupal power users and power user wanna-bes, showing how to make the most of existing core and contributed modules via configuration and some minor coding.
I plan to provide a step-by-step how-to demo of customizing a content type display using Panels2. The solution will provide custom placement of the node title, start/stop dates, teaser, video, related nodes, and file attachments. It will also incorporate placement of custom blocks and views within the node.
The solution will also include the use of node reference, imagecache, Calendar, Date, File Field, Embedded Media Field, and of course CCK & Views.
(Time permitting, I will attempt this in both D5 and D6 to show what is currently workable in D6).
So, yeah or nay?

I just posted the meeting event: http://groups.drupal.org/node/15194
Please cover CCK fields and Panels2 in D6
If you have time it would be great if you could cover CCK custom fields and Panels2 in D6 ... assuming it works that is, I haven't been able to get it working, but I'm a newbie so it is hopefully me that's the problem..
I have a D6 PM Workbench with Panels2 and CCK
I don't know if Steve has enough time to do everything he has scheduled plus Panels2 and CCK in D6 -- but if people are interested -- I've built a robust and feature rich project management workbench in D6 that leverages Panels2, CCK and Views. I would be more than happy to use the workbench as a hands-on workshop topic in the December meeting. I could include several of the concepts that Brian covered in a step-by-step tutorial where we actually build a project management workbench in D6.
