Drupal has changed, so we updated the camp accordingly. Join us for this jam-packed weekend of free Drupal community training - now with even more awesome sauce!
Event Highlights:
* Job Fair
* Drupal 7 Sessions
* Dedicated Beginners Track
* Step-By-Step Workshops
* Drupal Training Video Archives
* Awesome Raffle Prizes
* Nighttime Party
**What is DrupalCamp LA?** Every year the Drupal User Groups around Los Angeles and neighboring areas come together to teach, learn, and grow Drupal as a community. It's an event we're very proud of.
**Where will the camp be?** This year we’re using a new venue, the UCI Conference Center (Irvine, CA). The building is relatively new and has full air conditioning, Wi-Fi, charge stations, easy parking access, and all the session rooms are near each other (so no more rushing between sessions).
**How much does it cost to attend the camp?** The camp is free for attendees.
**How can I help or sponsor?** Contact the organizers.
We will be opening registration as soon as possible, but for now we need your help:
* Help us find sponsors - we want to keep the event free for attendees. Check our planning wiki for details: http://groups.drupal.org/node/155229
* Help us by volunteering - camps are community at their finest. come participate. we need help before and during the camp. Check our planning wiki for details: http://groups.drupal.org/node/155229
* Help us shape the sessions & topics - suggestions, ideas, and hand raising encouraged. Check our planning wiki for details: http://groups.drupal.org/node/155229
* Give us ideas for the camp web site or the event itself - we’ll add what we can. Check our planning wiki for details: http://groups.drupal.org/node/155229
* If we forgot something... remind us!

DrupalCamp LA?
I'd like to attend the DrupalCamp in LA. I'm in SF right now (is there anything planned up here??) and I'm just getting started on Drupal (though I've been programming since the mid 80s). If there's somewhere else to go for more information, I'm all ears. Can't wait to see what else is happening with the large more/ports over to 7 (and with 8?).
Welcome to Drupal!
Howdy & welcome aboard.
Bay Area Drupal Camp (BADCAMP) is coming up in October: http://badcamp.net/
Stanford Drupal Camp was in April: https://drupalcamp.stanford.edu/
Drupal Camp Sacramento just happened a couple weeks back: http://sacdrupal.org/
Hope to meet & cya down here @DCLA in August. As an old Knight Rider fan, I'm diggin' the username. ;)
Hope that helps.

Yeah!
I got here too late to be a part of this last year, but I want to be involved this time around.
Awesome! More doing and helping is always welcome!
Awesome! More doing and helping is always welcome! for now, and maybe the whole camp, the main wiki for this thing is here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/155229
As a more general comment:
Jump in with your ideas and help organize anything & everything. Leaders are awesome, Question's are welcomed, but it is always better if you have an idea of how we roll at DCLA and can just help make things happen -- either based on experience or at least by reading all the docs from previous years' -- google is your friend ;-)
The link above is a wiki. Its open. This is community, let's have fun and make it an awesome weekend of sharing and learning and making new friends (and better old one's)!

Site Building with Drupal 7 training at DrupalCamp
Hi campers! Exaltation of Larks is offering a Site Building with Drupal 7 training the day before this year's camp on Friday August 5th, 2011:
Site Building with Drupal 7
http://groups.drupal.org/node/165189
Here's some information about the training:
The cost of this full day of Drupal 7 training is just $195 (more than half off the regular price). On top of that, 10% of our profits from this training will be donated to the LA Drupal Association and registering for the training benefits you and the whole LA Drupal community!
ps. As a disclaimer, I'm one of the founders and trainers at Exaltation of Larks. That said, I'm tremendously invested in the LA Drupal community and helping Drupal grow in Southern California and beyond. I hope you find this training announcement helpful and I look forward to seeing you in person at DrupalCamp LA.

DrupalCamp LA 2011 was awesome!
DrupalCamp LA 2011 was awesome! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this event a huge success, including our presenters, volunteers, and sponsors.
I'd like to especially thank my fellow anteaters Dave and Sylvia who showed up before 8am to help with setup, stayed late to cleanup, made the awesome camp signs and brought morning treats - yum; and Kim who helped train our presenters so we could capture so many sessions in screencasts.
Special thanks also to stevenator for coordinating our volunteers, and fixing our camp website to show session co-presenters on the schedule, and to TommyK for leading the install fest.
John Romine
Thank you, John!
Everything you did made my camp, from putting up the website and arranging the sponsor tables to rescuing my jacket and helping us secure a classroom for our pre-camp training... the list is endless. Thank you for all the things you did to keep things running smoothly. See you at the meetups this month!
Loved the camp, THANKS!
I attended the both days and it was a great camp! Great organization, great sessions, great after party, great people. THANK-YOU to all of the volunteers and sponsors who made it happen.
