Below is the URL to the blog I mentioned at last night's TriDUG meetup. This saved me a lot of time in when I rename (duplicated) a theme because I did not have to manually redefine all the blocks and Skinr settings. Works great with Fusion subthemes.
Some notes:
Obviously, make sure to change "newtheme" and "oldtheme" parts of these statements to match your needs.
You will still have copy the theme directory to a new name, rename/edit the .info file and change theme name references in your template.php file.
