Hi,
I plan to make group content nodes from the group page itself. By default the audience should be the group itself. (just like this page in fact)
Can I accomplish this with a ctools plugin? (I know very little about ctools plugins)

What really do You want to do?
Standard is to make groups from the content type marked as a Group Type. You can generate as many groups as needed, in the same way as You add for example the Story.

At the group page I want a add node form. Under that I want the actual nodes of that group.
The add node form should be configured that it recognize the group id it is in.
I mean, just look at this website and click right at "create discussion". In the url there's the correct gid of the groups that redirected.
My question is how and where this 'context' comes from, and how can I replicate this. My assumption is with a ctools plugin (context & content type).
This is probably more of a ctools question, so I leave it here.

As far as I know You are right in part. I'm not an expert but I see the context is recognized by the Chaos Tools.
If I understand Your question, You Would like to have Group content forms automatically set to the proper group. If so, please try:
If required, do the same for all the other Group types You wish. For example, I have created Meeting as a Group type.
Now go to Your group and open it to "Edit" and make sure that there is the filed "Group content links" to choose. Please choose some of them.
Now, when You add this same field as the pane in the panel of the group*, You will see that this pane has the links to add (create) the same Group content types You just chose. And try these links - all forms have this group chosen from the context.
