The following weekend of October 24th & 25th, the Chicago Drupal user group is having a Drupal Camp as well.

I was thinking of heading to it and interested in carpooling if others are interested in going as well.
It sounds pretty cool and there is this "In addition, event sponsors are proud to announce an attendee-driven volunteer effort to build simple websites and web applications for small nonprofit organizations."

Did you go?
It would be cool to hold a drupal camp here, so maybe you could share your experience.
Went Chicago
I can't make Durpalcon so I decided to go to Chicago this weekend.
It was impressive, they did two tracks advanced and beginner. Had impressive presenters (partially due to their proximity to the presenters homes, including KarenS (maintainer for Calendar/Date API), Jeff Eaton about views2, a couple core maintainers talking about different aspects of Drupal. The location was 1 block from the train, so public transit was available. People came from as far as DC. They are talking about applying for Drupalcon Chicago in 2010, so they really rolled out the red carpet (or at least as much as you would expect for a bunch of Drupal coders :))
The icing on the cake was the food, no joke, they served gourmet breakfast/lunch, hell they even subsidized the beer Friday night. Their budget can be found here, http://www.drupalcampchicago.org/budget. One key to keeping cost down was the free venue they did it at University of Illinois Chicago, where some of the organizers are students.
Like any event like this the key seemed be sponsorship (they got Microsoft ???). They had capacity for 150, two mains rooms and about 3 or extra spaces (key so people who aren't going to pay attention can go elsewhere and not disrupt others). I bet we can find students at OSU who would be interested?
