Summary of position: The Jr. Drupal Developer supports and develops for the IES Abroad Public Website at www.IESAbroad.org and IES Abroad-related sites. A member of the Marketing Department, the Website Specialist is responsible for performing ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancement activities. Success factors for this position are technical knowledge, development and integration experience coupled with ability to develop and support practical, effective, customer-driven applications.

West Town Bikes http://westtownbikes.org/ is looking for a consultant to help with our new site http://westtown.server288.com/ which is close to release. The site has CiviCRM integration. Is there any interest in the solo/freelancer/work-from-home set in a regular co-working meetup, similar to what Mediacurrent recently proposed at http://www.mediacurrent.com/blog/drupal-coworking-friday-we-dont-have-wo... ?

The post suggests a regular monthly schedule (last Friday of the month, starting January 2012), though with enough interest we could do it more often. I've participated in a weekly freelancers coworking morning at a north side coffee shop for the past few months, and I've found the community and connections to be quite useful.

We are a small team of seasoned Drupal developers looking for office space in the Chicago northwest suburbs (around Arlington Heights preferably.) Ideally, I'd like to join an existing environment of Drupal enthusiasts / designers / developers, etc.

What we need:
We are basically looking for a place to host 3-5 professional and friendly people, and the occasional sales meeting (conference room a plus.)

What we bring to the table:
Many years of experience with all sorts of Drupal needs, especially in the fields of custom theming and module development.

Technology doesn't drive social change, but it is one tool used -- from the streets of revolutionary Cairo to community organizers in Detroit. Can we help support these social change movements with Drupal? Are there ways we can code and structure Drupal projects to make them more useful to activists? Does Drupal have a role in protests and strategic direct action?

This session will be an open discussion for those working around social change, case studies of using Drupal, and brainstorming for ways we could collaborate or support Drupal projects that support social change.

* on Tuesday (3/8), an Ignite Talk at 4:30pm at the Day Stage
* On Wednesday (3/9), a BoF session about the VoIP Drupal foundations - VoIP Drupal - Wed 9 March 10th, 12:00pm - 13:00pm in Colorado room

If you're going to be at Chicago Drupalcon, be sure to stop in at the Drupal for Nonprofits/NGOs/Community Orgs Birds of a Feather gathering!

They haven't announced the date/time for the BoFs yet, but it'll be posted on that page once they do.
