Hi all, just a quick help needed about attaching images to nodes. I'm using D7 and have a custom content type with a mandatory image field, configured with a default image to be used, in case the user uploads none. So far it's OK, but apart from these 2 situations, I need to integrate a middle one: if a user has no image to upload, he/she must be able to choose between some 8 or 10 pre-selected images, available on the server and shown on the node edif form as thumbnails.
Is it possible to do this without coding? I'm pretty new to building sites with drupal, so any help or module names where to look for information, will be great!
The idea behind this is to link this sort-of-default images to taxonomy terms, in the future ideally automating the process with rules for instance, having the pre-selected images automatically added to the node if the user enters one of the pre-selected taxonomy terms. but I think this for now may be too much to wish considering my limited knowledg of drupal... :)
Thanks anyway for the help

I have run into similar
I have run into similar problems with review/article sites, and my solution was to provide a URL field and not make either of the fields mandatory. If the image is not given, it falls back on the URL, and if that is empty, then, it shows the default image.
