There's a rumour going around that somebody somewhere suggested we fix Drupal Drinks Glasgow to the third Thursday in the month so we can have a permanent repeating event in the calendar and not have to think about it every month.
Sounds like a plan to me. Does anybody think otherwise?

Worldwide Drupal Happy Hour
Worldwide Drupal Happy Hour (WDHH) is a standards based approach to scheduling Drupal Drinks around the world on a regular recurring day. In addition to fostering a sense of world Drupal community, it also makes it easier to meet up with other Drupalers in towns you are visiting.
WDHH has been held on the last Wednesday of every month since early 2010, and is currently implemented by a number of cities. I'd love to see Glasgow join the growing list (and am actually adding this post from Glasgow-- I'll be in Scotland through the end of the month.)

I can see many benefits in
I can see many benefits in trending toward a global Drupal Drinks day but can also see a strong argument for keeping dates regional.
Different cities have a variety of tech / web meetups at different times and it would be a shame to conflict with a group of similar interests.
Last Wednesday for Glasgow Drupal Drinks is fine with me

Glasgow Tech Meetup is on the 4th Wednesday of the month, which is frequently also the last Wednesday. Personally I would really like Drupal Drinks (I keep typing Drupal Drunks for some reason) to not to clash with this when there are so many other days in the month. It's a nice idea but my vote's still for a Thursday.

If we can get our regulars to post with what we prefer then we can decide, if it should be on Wed or Thurs.
After our discussions at the last drinks, I would also like for people that are proposing to attend, to put forward any topic they would like to hear more about. If there are a number of people looking for information on similar topics, then I'm sure one of us can do a short talk about it. This will also encourage newer people to come along if we have a bit more structure (at least for the start of the evening ;)

Is it Possible to alternate the cities ?
Thursday's are fine for me but live in Edinburgh, Any chance of having one month in Edinburgh then Glasgow, if majority in Glasgow maybe alternate twice in 'G' and once in 'E' ?

If you think it's time for the next one you might want to start a new thread to get the attention of other Edinburgh peeps. It's probably just fallen by the wayside a bit over the summer, as has Glasgow's.

Thursdays
We've all been in general agreement in Glasgow that Thursdays work best for us, so Thursdays it should stay until such a time as the mood changes. In the long run holding the meet-ups on a particular day and week of the month should improve attendance, so paul.linney's proposal of holding the next 3 meet-ups on the 3rd Thursday is a welcome development.
Regarding venue, I think we all find Bar 91 a great place to chat and drink, but perhaps not conducive to structured meet-ups. One of our primary objectives this Autumn has to be to find a more suitable venue for the more formal part of the evening. Perhaps going back to Mono might be an idea until we find somewhere that fits the bill.
Those of us who attended DrupalCon London will have lots of new material to talk about. If no-one pipes up with a topic they would like to hear about, we can always propose a few topics based on our experience at the conference.
The Edinburgh schedule should go up shortly - their dates will most likely differ from the Glasgow ones to give those in the central belt and beyond the opportunity to attend both.

Well, I've taken the plunge and posted an event for the 22nd. Hope that's cool with everybody. Have put Mono as the venue but can be changed if anybody objects.
