The new OG (7) needs updated documentation

The Documentation link in the Resources block on the OG project page points to the D6 documentation, should point to the starting page of the OG docs, here: http://drupal.org/node/1114858

Shouldn't there also be a link to THIS group on that Resources block the OG project page?

We should make a list of the most significant new features of OG 7.x and also how OG 7.x is different from OG 6.x . As I am now starting to explore the OG7.x branch, I can also contribute to such documentation as I discover it. However, as I have not used OG 6.x myself, the actual differences to that version is something I would like help identifying. I would be especially focused on the realm of security and workflow.

Can someone provide a summary description about the major bug that stopped OG Forum in its tracks, and how that is now regarded in the light of OG 7.x? Useful perspectives and insights for many people, I assume.

For my own project(s), there is one major area I am now going to explore to find out if OG can be used for: That is to provide people with a solution to handle their communication with an increasing network of people from one place, either by themselves, or with a group of helpers/moderators. This includes options to ensure one-to-one communication where the manager does not reveal the growing network to everyone. Each member should be communicating only directly with the manager of the site, at least as a possibility for some of them, in early stages. Then, from there things can be opened up by connecting people with each other, letting them into new groups depending on interests, project participation, roles, etc. But the main concern is that each new user and unknown new contact should start out with only the option to communicate with the manager, yet still be given easy access to existing content based on for example taxonomy and the like, without revealing the other web site users at that point. A CMS is the perfect tool for this, and Drupal is currently in the lead. :-) I intend to explore and document such possibilities, including what is needed of other modules to make OG work in this way. I will also be interested in funding extra efforts where we need to develop new functionality for this to be possible.
