The Morse Institute Library lies just northeast of the town common, nestled deep within the heart of Natick Center. Among all the sites selected as possible drupal meetup locations, this was the one we had our hearts set on. The mist-shrouded Natick Center region provides the Library with a beautiful backdrop painted with a palette of seasonal colours and an abundance of traffic and commuters from the T-stop nearby. It is all of these attributes combined that makes the Morse Institute Library the ideal spot for talking drupal

Ok, so maybe Natick isn't that great, and we didn't really have our hearts set on the Library, but there is space and wifi there, and we don't like going a whole month without talking drupal with the local scene...

Set for Wednesday, December 10, 6 p.m. at Natick's public library, the Morse Institute Library, 14 East Central Street, Natick, Massachusetts. This is less than one block from the Natick stop on the MBTA Commuter Rail's Worcester/Framingham/Boston line. When you get there, go up the stairs, take a right, and you'll find us in one of the study rooms in that area.

Come to heckle the host, stay for the Drupal

Modesty prevented him, I'm sure, but I must point out that your host for this meetup will be the co-founder of Agaric Design Collective, who recently blogged to the world his thoughts on Drupal Meetup Etiquette.  There will not be again quite such a timely opportunity to come and make him try to live up to his own rules!

We know this meetup call is short notice and we don't know how many people are around, but we do hope to provide a more accessible Meetup – geographically for some, and in flexibility for what aspect of Drupal to talk about for all.  With a small group we'll be able to do more than "here's what I'm doing" presentations (with the occasional "and here's where I need a little help") to very free-format and informal discussion about what you want and how to get there with Drupal.

In general we want people to feel welcome to come and talk about and listen and learn about anything that touches everybody's favorite open source free software web content management system world:  design, code, available modules, reviewing patches for core, Dan Hakimzadeh's merits as a moderator, writing functionality tests, business practices, and the tactic of bribing people to come to a Drupal meetup with an offer of beer* afterwards.

Is there a list of "Lightning Talks" for this MeetUp?

Thank you in advance.

Lightning Talks

Great to have you, Sage!

Let's just list lightning talks in comments to this, the main posting of the meetup.

I will do a lightning talk on the Boston Indymedia project which needs an emergency Drupal booster— deploying a site rapidly while planning for growth and worldwide collaboration.
