Hello Portlanders. Was great to meet y'all last month, my first meeting. A really nice bunch we've got! Looking forward to our next meeting tonight.

I've been busy for the last month finishing up my latest creation. It's an artist's portfolio site, with lots of attention given to theme development. It's a pretty one, and I want to keep it that way. Please help me test at : http://cyrusmejia.openfacestudio.com

I've tested it in IE7 on Win Vista, and Firefox 3 on Mac and Win. I've implemented a number of custom CSS tweaks to make it pretty on these browsers. I have pngfix set up on this site, but havn't encountered a browser that needs it (IE 6 or earlier), so I can't verify that it's working. Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Peace,
M.M.

Different results in different browsers for home page

wonder95's picture

I get three very different results on the home page between FF3, IE7, and Safari 3.2.1 (all on Windoze):

  • IE7 - one static photo (the one with the girl in the red shirt)
  • FF3 - Rotating images between three (two Vicktory Dogs paintings and the same photo for 575 Project)
  • Safari - Rotating images, but there is a dark brown square above the image (the same size as the image), which pushes the image down and covers up the two buttons.

You might also want to test in Opera.

Thanks for that

The static images in IE are part of my "customizations".
(I'd rather one static image with a nice PNG drop shadow than a crummy drop shadow during image transitions, so I dissabled "views_rotator" for that browser.) OK

Thank You

The Safari issue is new, and I really appreciate that pointer.
Yea... that's my "drop" shadow.

Thanks.

If you need to conduct some basic cross-browser validation across several browser versions, I suggest you check out http://browsershots.org
