BarcampHK Ideas

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Just came home from HKDUG meetup today. Although the group was apparently smaller, we still had 2 great presentations thanks to Brent and Danila :)

One thing we did talk about was that Barcamp.HK 2011 (Thanks Joe for this wonderful news!) is closing up quickly. The event will be on Saturday 12/11/2011.

We all think that it is a great opportunity to showoff to the tech community why we love Drupal. We have had a few ideas from the HKDUG meetup tonight:

  1. A brief explanation / demo of various Drupal distributions;
  2. SCMP showcase;
  3. Wordpress vs Joomla vs Drupal collaborative showdown.

These ideas are definitely not the best, we came up with them in just about 10 mins of discussion withour tired, exhausted minds.

What do you think best we should do for BarcampHK 2011?

While I was writing the message, I suddenly thought that perhaps we could do a little "Do It With Drupal" presentation?

For those of you who dunno about Do It With Drupal, it's a national (for now) tour that's organized by Drupalize.me (a.k.a. Lullabot). The sole purpose is to teach Drupal fanatics some powerful tips, knowledge, usage of modules, etc etc, through mimicking real-life examples.

It may sound really difficult, but hey, Webchick did a 1 hour presentation on how to make a Basecamp Cloned In Drupal, why can't we do a 30 mins presentation with something similar?

Thoughts? :)

You mean like how to clone
