The next Brisbane meet-up is planned for Sat 28 Feb 09. Yes, this will be our first Saturday meet-up! We're looking forward to meeting the contingent of Sunshine Coasters this time, as well as the usual crowd and hopefully a few new Brisbanites as well :)

For those who missed the last meet-up, we have decided to try meeting on a Saturday every few months, so that those from up North can participate.

Location as usual, at Cafe 26, meeting in the morning at 10.30am for morning tea or brekky depending if you're aiming for a Saturday sleep-in! :) We'll aim to start the presentation on Panels 2 at 11 am.

Cafe 26
26 Station Rd,
Indooroopilly
(halfway between Indro shopping centre and the train station. View location on Google Maps)

If people are interested in hanging around afterwards for a social time, Cafe 26 has an excellent lunch menu.

Following are a few tentative future dates and topics for the next three meetings, so you can plan ahead:

Wed 25 March
— Caching & Memcache

Wed 29 Apr
— Business practices

Sat 30 May
— "Drupal Newbie" day (everyone to invite acquaintances who may already use Drupal at a basic non-developer level and/or are interested to see what it can do at a broad level)

We'll be in touch with those who have indicated that they are comfortable to present/lead the above topics.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

I'd also be keen to hear about the changes between Panels 2 and 3 as I'm still waiting for a semi stable version before I test it out

Great idea

I don't get up early on Saturday for much. We truly are slaves to Drupal :)

Technical level?

carlajayne's picture

Hi everyone,

I'm a manager of a drupal site and wondering what tech level the meetings are and who can come along etc?

I'm not a developer, but an in between - content editor, web designer, production manager, html/js dev only, I don't fluently code anything more than html. I wouldn't be able to contribute/benefit much from a developers/tech meeting but would love to get together with others who are using the system to develop web content etc.

The 30th May meeting looks like it could be interesting but its so far away! Do you have anything planned for those of us who aren't quite newbies?

Hi Carla
You are more than welcome to come to the next one. You don't need to be a hard core programmer - theres a real mix of people from managers, designers, programmers, business owners, gamers etc. common interest of drupal somewhere. so come on down!
Cheers

Excellent, thank you! Hope
