One idea we've had is to offer people "Drupal ready to go"..
ie all the modules, settings configured.. so all you have to do is login and get creating content..
We're also going to use it for all the workshops, etc..
We've added a proposal here - http://groups.drupal.org/node/19479
Take a look, give us your feedback, and if you like the idea, please signin/register then vote..
It really is a case.. of if you don't speak now.. it won't happen.
We'd also love to find people what can supply "recipes".. or that have wishlists.
This can be as simple as I want: cck, views, home page set to , contact form, etc..
or as complex as a full shop..
Feel free to send either 1) you're wish list.. or 2) you're recipe.. 3) your details if you can actually do the recipe, or can give us a tarball, sql dump you want to test..
We have a few on the wish list already e.g. googlemaps with location search for uk, for any content type. (CCK)
We can also help you with recording how you install modules, etc. onto video, so that we can all follow etc..
Does that sound interesting? get intouch.. let us know.

What wish list?
It sounds interesting, but I don't understand where the "wish list" comes from. For example, the linked Knight Initiative proposal talks about having clear lines of licensing and liability, but this wish list talks about googlemaps which is a PITA of licensing terms and accessibility problems.
I feel that a "Drupal ready to go" system needs some in-built preference for the simple, accessible and licence-clean option, to preserve users' independence and autonomy unless they choose otherwise.
Two different but similiar things..
1) the proposal is for a system that could do anything..
2) the wish list is what would you actually want to see drupal do.. at the camp..
they are linked but separate..
the licence point is very imporant..and as per the proposal..any licence expertise would be great..we want to make sure no one has either copyright, licence or any aspect overstepped.. we're thinking as wide open as possible.
(with my example though.. I could install the gmap module, and give you site, where all you had to do was enter you api key and it would work.. -yes we can't share api keys.. that's very important to watch out for..)
ie no point us saying.. here's a great drupal site.. and doing a clean 5.15 site.. well maybe there is?
it depends on your point of view..
I think "developer" people want clean installations..
Testing and learning by doing people want content, things they can play, break and tweak
End users want the roles already configured, workflow etc..
I'm open to ideas.. and happy to discuss..
(ps. having difficulty with the contact form here - isn' t notifying me - any tips.. )
ps..
the other funny thing.. I've had over 10 people email me today.. saying love the idea. but how do I vote.. not everyone knows how to signup and do it.. so will try and screenshot later.. but good example of what should be easy.. with drupal not being..
