Event type:
User group meeting

There was a TON of knowledge spread at this year's DrupalCon! Come hang out with those of us who went: Doug, Aaron, Seth, Tony, Josh, and maybe Brandon if he wants to make the drive.
We'll do some pizza, some drinks, and plenty of Drupal.
I'm asking all the DrupalCon attendees to register as attending then reply to this post and suggest some things you might want to share. Go ahead and offer a lot of ideas if you have many. We can get a discussion going on which ones are of most interest.
To make sure we have enough pizza, Please Register To register you must be viewing the Full version of this post which is visible by clicking on the TITLE of this event-post.
As usual bring $5 if you're going to stuff your face.

Can't make it

I'd love to come down and hang out, but my Monday nights are spoken for until at least the end of April. Sounds like fun, though.

We could touch on the usability testing that has been occurring with Drupal and how some of the "easy" tasks are actually rather hard if you are just starting to use Drupal.

Both API sessions were great.

This may be a good topic for another session and maybe lead into another Saturday get together for the group. How to test a patch. Maybe this could lead to a "bug day" where we get together and just work on testing patches for drupal. If we worked it right maybe we could get some of the other Midwestern d.u.g.'s to do one at the same time and really take a bite out of some of the bugs/patches.

Walkah's assessment on why he hates Drupal was pretty much right on, in my head. What are things Drupal can do to improve. Might also be tied into the usability testing.

Meeting Follow-up

Seth, you talked about some Feed modules, (i.e., FeedAPI). You also mentioned another Feed module. What was that other Feed module that we discussed during the meeting?

Thanks

More than I expected.

I did a module search for "feed" and I was blown away at what I saw.

Take a look at that. You might find what you're looking for. I am realizing now that I have a lot of research to do regarding feeds.

Feed API mapper is the other

Feed API mapper is the other one. Also there is an RSS Feed Drupal Group: http://groups.drupal.org/rss-aggregation which is a great place to ask questions.

I have been creating tons of patches since Drupalcon. But enough with the command line! I'd really like to present the information I learned from the "Drupal Process" session.

Can't Make it.

I just realized that I can't make it. I'm so bummed. I really wanted to hear how things went. Watching the videos only gives you part of the picture.

That's too bad!

Dang, I had just installed your Taxonomy Menus module and was looking forward to discussing some functionality and feedback for it. Maybe I'll have to write up an email now :)

Just wanted to mention, there has been such a flurry of activity on GDO, IRC, and the whole Drupal community since Drupalcon, might be fun to discuss all that is going on and where we can benefit.

I have a conflict Monday, but I'm going to try to make it even if I have to leave early.

I'm looking forward to hearing all your reports from DrupalCon. Sounds like it was an awesome event.
