I'll try to attend. I'd be curious to know if there is any interest in holding the TriDUG meet ups during the day time instead of evening hours? I can't make the meetings if they are in the evening.
TriDUG Lunch
DesignHammer could host a Pizza Lunch meeting for about 12 people, in our conference room.

IRC Planning Meeting log
Below is the log from today's planning meeting. Thanks to everyone who came and Paul Thedinga for volunteering to present / get feedback on a site he's working on.
The quick summary:
Meeting agenda for Next Week set (see meeting post).
Lots of interest in doing something at lunch and a "coworking event" - allen freeman volunteered to get this rolling.
(Take 2 with names not removed as bad tags...lol)

[15:03] <afreeman> Sup.
[15:04] <jhibbets> sorry, still in another meeting, but multi-tasking now :)
[15:04] <CGMonroe> lol... that's why your connected as shibby and jhibbets...lol
[15:04] <CGMonroe> anyway, I think we've got 3 things to talk about:
[15:05] <CGMonroe> 1) The meeting next week
[15:05] <jhibbets> yeah, shibby is at my desk and jhibbets is my back-up (when I'm on my laptop)
[15:05] <CGMonroe> 2) Desigh Hammer's offer
[15:05] <CGMonroe> 3) Julia's post
[15:05] <CGMonroe> Anything else?
[15:05] <afreeman> 2.5) Bull City Coworking's offer to host daytime meetups as well.
[15:06] <CGMonroe> That = Julia's post?
[15:06] <afreeman> negative.
[15:06] <afreeman> I was at Bull City Coworking last week and struck up a convo with the guy in charge.
[15:06] <juliakm> afreeman I'm at Bull City Coworking now. Did you talk to Robert?
[15:06] <SteveCory> Julia's = http://groups.drupal.org/node/195983
[15:07] <Druplicon> http://groups.drupal.org/node/195983 => Drupal Coworking Friday Host FAQ => 0 comments, 1 IRC mention
[15:07] <afreeman> Think so, Julia.
[15:07] <juliakm> Well, doing something here sure seems to make a lot of sense. :)
[15:07] <afreeman> On item 1, do we have an agenda for the meeting?
[15:08] <jhibbets> SteveCory, that sounds good for today's agenda
[15:08] <jhibbets> timswezy, i saw your email. and still need to respond
[15:08] <CGMonroe> Not yet... any offers to present
[15:09] <timswezy> jhibbets thanks, no problem
[15:09] <CGMonroe> I have a "Using WYSIWYG / HTMLPurifier" thing I can do.
[15:09] <jhibbets> CGMonroe, is it wirthwhile to summarize the vitrual meeting from December at the next meetup?
[15:09] <CGMonroe> Yeah, that makes since... and expand on it.
[15:10] <CGMonroe> How long do you think? 1 hour?
[15:10] <jhibbets> i was thinking more like 20-30 minutes
[15:11] <SteveCory> Julia stated, "I'd like to propose a base theme comparison night in the new year where we talk about Omega, Fusion, Zen, etc."
[15:11] * usaussie (~usaussie@njyoung.unity.ncsu.edu) Quit (Quit: usaussie)
[15:12] <CGMonroe> Should good... but do we have a presenter?
[15:13] <CGMonroe> Or people willing to "rep" on each theme?
[15:13] <juliakm> CGMonroe I could rep Fusion but not sure about this month
[15:14] <CGMonroe> Yeah, I'm in the fusion camp... with a little bit of Zen usage
[15:14] <timswezy> jhibbets I've been out of the loop for a while, can we reconnoiter about printed materials that TriDUG might need at some point? Either at the meeting or via email. Thanks!
[15:14] <SteveCory> Julia? Did you mean for Drupal 6 or 7? Is Omega in D6?
[15:14] <jhibbets> timswezy, sure
[15:14] <timswezy> jhibbets cool, thanks
[15:14] <juliakm> SteveCory I would prefer to talk about Drupal 7
[15:15] <CGMonroe> Following up on allan's suggestion, we can start a little in person polling about t-shirt interest
[15:15] <CGMonroe> I'll make that part of the Dec v-meeting follow up... and maybe we could include it in the next Raleigh meeting
[15:15] * SteveCory wants a T-Shirt AND a Baseball Cap!
[15:16] <jhibbets> Greg, how long would your WYSIWYG preso take, maybe we do an beginner one preso paried with something more techincal
[15:17] <CGMonroe> I can tailor it to the time... an hour would be nice... but could do it faster
[15:17] <SteveCory> http://www.cafepress.com ?
[15:17] <afreeman> cafepress t-shirts are horribly quality-wise, they tend to be expensive, and I support supporting local business where possible.
[15:17] <timswezy> no to cafepress, I can research some better options, at least depending on how much people want to pay
[15:17] <timswezy> local also good
[15:17] <CGMonroe> Hmm, me thinks Steve is volunteering for the TriDUG Wear commitee...
[15:18] * SteveCory falls down
[15:18] <jhibbets> i've got a local t-shirt guy that uses american apparel
[15:18] <jhibbets> any way.....we could put this as a topic for our meeting
[15:18] <timswezy> sounds good
[15:18] <SteveCory> +1
[15:18] <jhibbets> so let's re-group here on IRC and get a preso topic with a presenter
[15:18] <CGMonroe> Yeah, get interest and ask for volunteers there
[15:18] * tlattimore (~thomaslat@email.cgraphics.com) Quit (Quit: tlattimore)
[15:18] <afreeman> I want your t-shirt guy's contact info. I've got a batch of Misery t-shirts to make.
[15:19] <jhibbets> afreeman, his name is adam peele
[15:19] <CGMonroe> One thing that worked last year was the "Highlight your Site" thing (e.g. Opensource.org)
[15:19] <jhibbets> i think he's at Design Box - I'll bring his contact info to the meetup
[15:19] <jhibbets> CGMonroe, .com!
[15:20] <CGMonroe> LOL... that would make me finally finish it...
[15:20] <jhibbets> CGMonroe, maybe a crowdsource session ...
[15:20] <CGMonroe> It is also a Drupal 7 site
[15:20] <jhibbets> let people show-off some of their sites
[15:20] <jhibbets> then get feedback on what to work on for 2012 and how to do it with Drupal
[15:21] <paulthed> I could discuss a site we are starting to build internally. It's in early stages, but could use a lot of feedback from all of you
[15:21] <afreeman> Sounds great.
[15:21] <jhibbets> paulthed, do we need NDA's :)
[15:21] <afreeman> The group typically loves a case study.
[15:21] <paulthed> we are also looking to port our internal knowledgebase over to D7
[15:21] <paulthed> so another thing
[15:22] <paulthed> jhibbets: I don't think you'll have to sign NDAs :)
[15:22] <paulthed> I can filter out anything that need be
[15:22] <CGMonroe> +1 ... I get to see what my son's been doing ...lol
[15:24] <CGMonroe> Can you do this next meeting and how long would you need?
[15:24] <paulthed> yeah, I could do it next meeting
[15:24] <paulthed> 30-45 minutes at most
[15:24] * tlattimore (~thomaslat@email.cgraphics.com) has joined #drupal-nc
[15:25] <paulthed> if someone else wants to present a site too, I can trim it down a lot too
[15:25] <paulthed> can be flexible
[15:26] <CGMonroe> How about:
[15:26] <CGMonroe> 6:30 Meet and Greet
[15:26] <CGMonroe> 7:00 Announcements / Jobs needed or offered
[15:26] <CGMonroe> 7:10 December "Virtual Meeting" recap
[15:26] <CGMonroe> 7:40 Paul T.'s site review
[15:26] <CGMonroe> 8:20 Group problem solving
[15:26] <CGMonroe> 9:00 Mellow Mushroom Time
[15:26] <paulthed> looks good to me
[15:26] <jhibbets> I would add in 10-20 minutes for "SWAG" discussion
[15:27] <CGMonroe> K... figure the group problem solve was to fill anytime left
[15:27] <jhibbets> on the back part of the agenda
[15:27] <jhibbets> yes
[15:27] <SteveCory> Isn't that "SCHWAG"?
[15:28] <CGMonroe> You are SOOO going to be on the commitee now....lol
[15:28] <CGMonroe> OK, looks like we've got an agenda unless any objections... going once
[15:29] <jhibbets> CGMonroe, looks good. Gotta run to my next meeting
[15:29] <jhibbets> see everyone next week
[15:29] <paulthed> sounds good
[15:29] <CGMonroe> Any thoughts about Design hammer's offer?
[15:30] <timswezy> what's their offer?
[15:30] <CGMonroe> To host an lunch time meeting in their RTP offices
[15:30] <SteveCory> http://groups.drupal.org/node/200398#comments
[15:30] <Druplicon> http://groups.drupal.org/node/200398 => TriDUG IRC planning session on Thurs, Jan 12 @ 3:00 => 2 comments, 1 IRC mention
[15:30] <CGMonroe> They can set 12 or so... more if we're friendly and don't need seats.
[15:30] <jhibbets> afreeman, isn't that career fair day thing coming up in February at NCSU?
[15:30] <afreeman> Dunno.
[15:31] <afreeman> Re: DesignHammer, I'm happy to volunteer weekday meetups in the Durham area.
[15:31] <jhibbets> i thought TriDUG was getting a table
[15:31] <SteveCory> http://students.engr.ncsu.edu/careerfair/
[15:31] <juliakm> CGMonroe I'd prefer the Bull City Coworking location to DH just because it's closer to home.
[15:31] <afreeman> Why would we have a table at a career fair?
[15:32] <afreeman> I think we should explore both DesignHammer and BCC to see which venue is going to be a better fit for the midday crowd.
[15:32] <CGMonroe> Julia - Can we do presentation type stuff there?
[15:32] <juliakm> CGMonroe hmm. not sure if they have a projector
[15:32] <afreeman> I suspect it'll be BCC but then I don't know how well they're going to respond to having 15+ people piling into the conference room like sardines.
[15:33] <afreeman> I've got a projector the group can borrow.
[15:33] <juliakm> But, if someone at DH wants to coordinate, then I think it should be there.
[15:34] <CGMonroe> Do we want to consider this as an extra meetup or replacement?
[15:34] <afreeman> extra imho.
[15:34] * tlattimore (~thomaslat@email.cgraphics.com) Quit (Remote host closed the connection)
[15:34] <CGMonroe> or an new meetup in rotation...
[15:34] * tlattimore (~thomaslat@email.cgraphics.com) has joined #drupal-nc
[15:35] <afreeman> Not sure what that means.
[15:35] <CGMonroe> e.g. RAL -> Durham -> DH/BCC
[15:35] <afreeman> shrug
[15:36] <afreeman> If there's enough demand for a monthly lunchtime meetup in Durham, turnout's good and we get a lock on a solid venue, I don't see why not.
[15:36] <Purdy> durham lunchtime meetup++
[15:37] <CGMonroe> I REALLY like the idea of lunch time meeting...just not sure we can come up with enough content if they are extra.
[15:37] <afreeman> Different group, different batch of potential presentation volunteers :)
[15:37] <SteveCory> I would feel left out in Chapel Hill, that's about 40 mins travel time
[15:38] <SteveCory> Was a Web-Conference part of the discussion?
[15:39] <juliakm> gotta run but let me know if you need me for anything
[15:39] * juliakm (~juliakm@rrcs-70-61-86-178.midsouth.biz.rr.com) Quit (Quit: Computer has gone to sleep.)
[15:39] <CGMonroe> K - Do folks think we can do something the last friday of this month?
[15:40] <CGMonroe> I'm thinking we start this as an "extra"... and then adjust as needed
[15:41] <afreeman> Given the levels of interest expressed by all the drupal folks at Duke we don't normally see in the evenings I'm cautiously optimistic that this midday thing will have legs.
[15:41] <CGMonroe> Re: Web conference - I may be able to work that in.
[15:41] <CGMonroe> I think so to...
[15:43] <CGMonroe> K - lets mull this over and see if we can put something together for around 27th or 3rd?
[15:44] <afreeman> 27th if you want me to organize it.
[15:44] <afreeman> I'm in Houston 1st week of Feb.
[15:44] <CGMonroe> Don't have a preference... just thinking between normal meetings
[15:44] <afreeman> 27th works for me. We'll have to bounce that off DH before putting it on the calendar.
[15:45] <CGMonroe> Yeah... I was thinking DH would be a good place to start.
[15:45] <afreeman> You want to follow up with David and Kosta or should I do that?
[15:46] <SteveCory> http://groups.drupal.org/user/706544
[15:46] <CGMonroe> I'll let you do that.
[15:46] <afreeman> No worries.
[15:46] <afreeman> Regarding Julia's mention of Drupal Coworking.
[15:47] <afreeman> I'm also heavily in support of that and BCC isn't far from my house so that's something I'd be interested in participating in as well.
[15:47] <CGMonroe> If you/DH are managing the meeting, I might be able to run the "web cam" for a web conference part of this.
[15:47] <afreeman> Worth a shot. I'll let them know we're going to try to film.
[15:48] <CGMonroe> BCC - you thinking a true CC event?
[15:48] <CGMonroe> e.g. people just coming to work there
[15:48] <afreeman> It's a coworking facility....
[15:48] <afreeman> that's pretty much what folks do.
[15:48] <afreeman> I'm sure they'd be happy to have the extra turnout.
[15:49] <afreeman> Next time I'm there I'll ask about a group discount.
[15:49] <CGMonroe> Sounds good... there are a lot of people working @home, etc.
[15:49] <CGMonroe> Nice way for the Drupal community to do a bull session
[15:50] <afreeman> I'll talk to them this evening and email you. Maybe we get something on the calendar for next week.
[15:50] <CGMonroe> K, sounds good.
[15:51] <afreeman> Aight. Sounds like I've got my action items. I'm going to dip. everyone enjoy their afternoons.
[15:51] <CGMonroe> L8R
