Cambridge

I'm in Cambridge, but Saugus is a reasonable distance. I have a car (5 seat hatchback) so I'd be willing to help with a car pool if anyone else in the area wanted to go.

all good

I live in Rowley (hi Susan -- we should meet up), but I work in Boston, so Saugus is right on the way home for me.

Thank you for putting

Thank you for putting together the poll!

I live in Melrose, so Saugus (although I loath Rt1) would be best for me. However, I might suggest that Peabody or Woburn should be added as they are more central (given there is interest from metro north-west) and they have access from multiple highways/directions.

shrug

Frankly, I don't know either town well enough to make a recommendation of venue, just putting that out there. Hopefully I can attend one of these things in the future.

Out of staters?

Some of us Vermonters might be interested in coming down... if you all will have us hinterlanders. Andover would be nice due to it's proximity to the border, but I don't want to upset the apple cart.

any of these

Any of these would be easier for me than the options South (Jamaica Plain, Dorchester, etc) or West (Natick, Framingham, Worcester, Newton) of Boston!

Let's reinvigorate the "Metro North" and "North Shore" parts of the taxonomy . . .

Cities

Saugus or Woburn works great for me.

That said, Andover, Beverly, and Peabody are fine too.

I voted Beverly

Because it is closest for me. (Rockport) But really any of these locations would work just fine.
There's a Panera on 1A near 128 in Beverly.

How's Saugus this Thurs, April 9th?

susan macphee's picture

Hi all,

Making the call--Saugus it is!

Would Thurs of this week in Saugus at Panera, work for anyone?

Next week is too close to NH meetup time.

If more than just me can come, I'll announce it :)

Cheers! Susan

I should be able to make it.

What time were you thinking?

It's on Rt 1's southbound side for those that don't know the area. If you're heading north I'm pretty sure you:
- Take the exit for Lynn Fells Parkway
- You will pass over Rt 1. When you empty onto Lynn Fells Parkway you will be facing a Shaws and Target plaza. Take a left.
- The entrance to Panara's Plaza (with Marshals, and Circuit City) will be on your left after about 150 yards or so.

North Shore vs NH: overlap?

lbourn's picture

Is there much overlap between this meetup and the NH one? I'd prefer next week (Tues or Thurs), there's something on the Thursday schedule I was hoping to attend, and it would let us give a little more notice. :-)

If it has to be this Thursday, keep it, I'll see if my other event is really going on. We'll never find THE perfect day, so let's at least get one that's not too bad.

Drupal Cafe Wed 8th, 7pm Saugus, MA

susan macphee's picture

Is that too soon? There's 2 Drupal events next week.

What's the other one? The

lbourn's picture

What's the other one? The non-Metrowest one?
I was thinking of hitting the Metrowest one again (I liked it last time).
Are we sold on Thursdays?
How many cats are there here that need herding?

Natick the following week

ecksley's picture

There is already a metro west event in Natick the following Thursday. Just FYI.

Meetup Decision

Scott McCabe's picture

I was going to attend the RI meetup this Thurs. and the Metro West one next Thurs., but I don't mind swapping either one for Saugus if that works for everyone.

The Saugus destination would save me a lot of driving since I'm only a couple of towns away, and I'm guessing that there will be another opportunity to meet the folks attending the RI and Metro West meetups, not to mention that they can probably get along fine without me the newbie. :-)

Too soon - can't do this week

cozzi-gdo's picture

I already have a commitment for this week but next week is still open.

Let's meet in Saugus

kmgflavin-gdo's picture

I think until we settle on the size of the group, this first time we meet will help us decide when and where for the next one. If we keep discussing, we'll miss all of them! ;-) I plan on being at Panera's in Saugus. I don't have much to offer, but I have a laptop and can work anywhere, so it won't be a lost time for me. At least we'll meet each other.

Best,
