BPO Canada Ahmedabad Office - Drupal Center of Excellence will be running Free Drupal Seminars at our C. G. Road Office :

This would be 2 hour Seminars from 3 to 5 PM on 1st Saturday of every month. Interested Open Source Developers in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar/Gujarat are welcome to call our Ahmedabad Office and pre-register.
We only have capacity to have 15 people during every session.

Seminar on Drupal for Educational Institutions
Keeping up with the legacy of spreading the knowledge of Drupal in the community, BPO Canada organized yet another seminar in Ahmedabad city. For the first time, we specifically targeted the seminar for the educational institutions who can benefit from adopting Drupal. The seminar was attended by the IT staff of colleges who look after the management of websites.
Drupal being a community friendly CMS can help build and prosper a community such as one which can be found in any educational institute. The various stakeholders in the schools need a platform to interact which can be accessed in any remote conditions.
The seminar titled "Community Building through Drupal" was held on the 7 July, 2007, Saturday, at Drupal Designs Software Services Pvt. Ltd. (DDSSL) premises. DDSSL is an exclusive vendor for BPO Canad and has been developing services related to Drupal and RoR.
Rajat Gupta started the session with a presentation specifically targeting the educational institutes. The session a brief introduction of BPO Canada followed by the benefits that an educational institute can gain if it adopted Drupal. It also included case studies that showed how it has become imperative for a school to adopt to Drupal.
Mr. Dheeraj Dagliya gave a presentation on how Drupal's framework, which is scalable and modular, would easily help a school or a college, to add new features. Also the benefit of adopting Drupal, an open source software having regular contributions from its community, would help any educational institution in managing their content.
This was followed by a Demo presentation from Ravi Prakash who showed how easily any individual, not having a background of programming can easily change and edit content on a live site. Another Demo showing the benefits of Drupal in case of a school site were enumerated. A school site having almost all the features that a normal school website would contain was shown. The different aspects of Drupal such as User Management, Blocks, Polls, Blogs, Newletter etc. were also shown.
The seminar was concluded by a speech given by Mr. Dheeraj who invited all the participants to join the Ahmedabad chapter of Drupal and be a part of the global Drupal community.
