There will be three sessions related to this at Open Web Vancouver on June 11-12, including:

Boris' talk on Open Restaurant Data
A session featuring Councillor Andrea Reimer and David Eaves on the initative
A workshop on how to get started as web developers, including participation by City IT Staff

I think I can find other things I can do to justify the trip. I'm also curious what open restaurant data has to do with local government.

Typically it's the closed restaurant data that the local government has something to do with ;-).
