Join us for a planning session to get DrupalcampNYC11 underway. We are projecting an unconference date of June 23rd at BKLYN Polytech.
We'll be meeting on May 9th at 6pm at DPCI, 1560 Broadway @ 46th Street, 8th floor
We'll have beer and snacks at this meetup as always
We're also looking for a few people to help volunteer. This should be a relatively simple and straightforward smaller camp event, so if you have some time between now and June to do some volunteer work to help make this a great one, we appreciate it!

Is this going to be an unconference in addition to the December conference or instead of?
Also, I'd be interested in helping out, but unfortunately I'm away right now and won't be back until the 12th, so i'm going to miss this.

Hi snugug,
DCNYC11 is an unconference. We're contemplating DCNYC12 to happen later this year as a mini-con. We don't have details on that, its being organized separately from this unconference.
No worries if you're not back until the 12th. We definitely could use some help on the unconference, but we'll just connect when you're back...

date change?
Hey all- I thought you should be aware that June 22nd is Drupaldelphia, and 23-24 is an important core code sprint (which will include merlinofchaos, XJM, tim.plunkett, and other core contributors). We'd love to have the NY crowd down in our neck of the woods, and would hate to miss this, so is there any way the date could be changed?

We've pretty much committed to the venue and are simply waiting for the official confirmation and costs.
It would be hard to change now, but I'm open to having that discussion as long as it does not create ill will between us and NYU/Poly which is an institution that has been very good to us in the past.
re: DrupalcampNYC11 Unconference planning
Hello,
Just a heads up that this unconference which is slated to happen June 23rd has been in planning for months. We had voted on two Drupalcamps for 2012 - the uncon and a 1-day event to be held at the end of the year.
Obviously we were indeed surprised by the NYCCamp announcement and subsequent rapid registration. We still are planning to proceed with this 6/23 event at Poly, but it would be good to gauge interest in such an enterprise in light of the fact that there is now a different, new group planning a mini-con on July 20th, just a month away.
Any and all comments are appreciated.

I had no idea that that two camps were being planned simultaneously within the same time period by separate organizing groups. Can someone enlighten me on the back story here, please.

Is there a reason all three events can't happen? The scheduling seems to work, and seeing as every event the group does like this 'sells out'. I think there is room enough for all. No?
