Hi Guys,
I have a good deal worked out with my work (NJIT) to host meetups on a regular basis and provide lab space. My work is interested in providing paid training at some point, but the offer of hosting Meetups or camps is genuine and free. The meetup offer is an attempt for the university to support open source technology / projects, since we use a lot of them on campus.
We have a bar on campus, coffee, food, etc... AND we can have a lab with projector and about 30+ PC stations. We will arrange for free parking here on campus and we just need to schedule the meetups when lab is not in use and when it might be easiest to get parking. Parking issue is just a courtesy to people coming.
We plan on offering formal training in courses that cover themeing, modules, admin, etc... We want to create an open source university that has reasonably priced "boot camp" like training for different projects and Drupal will be one of the first. We also plan on offering / are offering Ubuntu, BSD, Apache, Mysql, and other stuff.
Would you be interested in working with me to get the meetings held here sometimes or all the time.
Keith
