Good book for an experienced developer?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hi all,

I am new to Drupal but not new to programming. Thus I am seeking your recommendation of a good book that dives into the guts of using Drupal early, without filler chapters ( if such a thing is possible :).

Can you please list a book you've read., what you liked about it and what you found lacking?

Kind Regards,
Rajinder Yadav

Probably the best book to get your started is Pro Drupal Development (Second Edition)

If you want to understand how drupal works and how to start programing for Drupal this is the book to start with.

I also recommend Pro Drupal Development (Second Edition).

That book really got me into Drupal's insides and it seems to be written for developers (as opposed to non-coding folks). I still refer to it on occasion as it covers a lot of Drupal's API and functionality with examples.
