I've been slacking on this for a few weeks, but I think it is safe to say that the results of our poll make it clear that the new Florida Drupal User's Group logo is the Drupal Diver, designed by Dustin J. Cooper!
I've asked Dustin to create a Wiki page containing information and various downloadable sizes of the logo for the entire community to utilize. Also, I've gone ahead and added the logo to the header of http://groups.drupal.org/florida.
The next step is to produce some swag! Many people have requested stickers of the logo to be able to hand out at meetups, camps, and 'cons. To proceed on this front, I believe we need two things:
- Does anyone have suggestions for a quality printer that can produce high-quality, die-cut stickers?
- Other than the logo, what should the sticker say? I'm thinking it should be a combination of 2 or 3 things, "Florida Drupal User's Group", "http://groups.drupal.org/florida", and/or "Dive into Drupal". Maybe combine two of them into "Dive into Drupal with the Florida Drupal User's Group" (although that seems a bit wordy)?
Anyway, let's get this figured out and order some stickers. These stickers will be paid for from surplus funds from Florida DrupalCamp.

I really would like something besides Florida DUG as that's too plain. Florida Drupal Empire is great but I understand if that's not everybody's thing. Let's think through alternatives.

Using the ever popular Special Interest Group as a model,
Drupal Interest Group says who we are and seems to roll off the tongue.
It allows for phrases such as:

And I don't think Dustin would have too much trouble coming up with a myriad array of clever illustrations to accompany our events.

Wow - thanks everyone for all the great ideas.
Let's try to wrap up this discussion by determining the wording on the first batch of stickers. I'm thinking that we'll have round die-cut stickers with some text on the top and on the bottom (and the Drupal Diver logo in the middle, of course).
Based on the comments above and discussions I've had off-line with people, here's what I'm thinking:
Above diver: Florida Drupal Empire - groups.drupal.org/florida
Below diver: Dive Into Drupal!
Remember, we're not picking an "official" slogan, just designing some stickers. Let's come to a consensus and get some stickers ordered!

How about "Florida Drupal Group" above the diver? Or the exact name of the site (sorry don't know what this is, have been disconnected). "Florida Drupal Empire" sounds pompous, and too big for its diving britches. lol
"Dive Into Drupal" below the diver makes sense and reads well.
