BADCampUK Sessions - more representation from Brighton shops/indies needed!

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

With less than three weeks to go until BADCampUK we have only 3 submitted sessions, one of them mine :D

http://BADCampUK.net

Please over the next day or two submit sessions - doesn't have to be a lot of detail, just an overview. It would be great to see all the Drupal people in Brighton do sessions and show how big Drupal already is in Brighton and connect the community together, and with those who are interested in what this Drupal thing is.

If I had money, I'd offer bribes, but I don't so I won't.

And again, I apologise for the late organising of this, at least we know it's going to be in September during Brighton Digital Festival each year so we can start planning earlier for the next one!

Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Also, if there's any particular speakers/sessions you'd like please post a comment, I've learned BADCamp in the US spend most of their time organising scholarships for speakers and I think that's a good way for us to go too - would much rather spend sponsorship money on that than candy floss :D

Thanks for your time and attention,

Steve

Drupal and Ubercart ok?

blg@bgreenaway.com's picture

Though Commerce is out and deployable I can offer my time to discuss how to sort out most of the Ubercart installations out there running on 2.x and D6, if you like.
I just added my proposal to your list. :-)

Thanks!

Thanks, that's great! Drupal's never about just one way of doing things - I'm a particular fan of the Pay module too, so all sessions welcome, many still use Ubercart!

Hi Steve, I've checked

ikos's picture

Hi Steve,

I've checked availability on the 15th now, so I'll put some sessions up.

I have a general "Drupal for Business" one if you think that's the audience this time round and also the ones from DrupalCon and NYCCamp.

Probably not enough time to come up with anything brand new, but I have enough "in the can" now that I can get something together.

Happy to do a Kickstart v2 demo as well now if you like.

Great!

Thanks Simon, that's great!

The biz one will be great, and I'm keen to see Kickstart v2 as I'm sure many other will be too.

Re my other post - if there are people in your company who deal with PR, marketing, etc. it would be great to get their help spreading the word about the event, I realise it's late in the day but it's also a great way of connecting and spreading the word about what you do too :D

Have a check

stevepurkiss's picture

Hiya! Have a check on the submitted sessions section - I think we've just got one for kickstart so sure, as long as they're not too much the same - can you differentiate?

D'oh

stevepurkiss's picture

OK so I guess I should've read the thread :D

Can you guys work this one out together? I'm not fussed, the more the merrier - more than one and cover different areas would be best IMO

Thanks for your support!

jQuery session

stevepurkiss's picture

Hi Craig - feel free to submit that jQuery session you were talking about... just one line of info will be fine for the moment.

Thanks you're a Star! :D

Was going to be Drupal +

Shoseki's picture

Was going to be Drupal + NodeJS but I am still struggling... its a bit complex!

Please submit it :D

stevepurkiss's picture

Just submit it, you can always cancel later if it's an issue, but you did well last time with a packed room so I wouldn't worry too much!

Otherwise people won't know there's a session on that topic!

Ok, I bit the bullet and

Case study and module development

gingerfrog's picture

Hello Steve,

I have a couple of sessions to contribute if interested. One is a case study of e-commerce site, with ubercart, SEO and general beginner setup.

The other one is in the making, and is based around sequence.js and its implementation via views-slideshow. It would actually cover basic module development. We are trying to tie a few loose ends before proposing it as a session, but should have a definitive answer by the end of the week.

I also emailed you while you were in Munich regarding sponsorship.

Cheers

Excellent!

stevepurkiss's picture

Excellent thanks! If you haven't already can you post them up to the http://BADCampUK.net site even just as placeholders? Thanks!

I'll check through my mails from last week... slowly catching up :D

Thanks again,

Steve

Having a crazy week following DrupalCon but will have something next week

Just a title... go on... :D

stevepurkiss's picture

Totally understand - any chance of submitting just the title - just put "placeholder" in the body text - can do it for you if you reply here, just want people to see what we're going to be talking about.

No probs if not, just would be good :D

Entered the title of my last
