We here at Cogapp are looking for a permanent Drupal developer to work in our Brighton office.

We're also interested in hearing from local freelance Drupal developers to add to our roster. N.b. you must be willing and available to work on-site rather than remotely.

Finally, we are also looking for a more junior web developer to join the team: experience of Drupal helpful but not essential.

A wee reminder it's DrupalCamp Brighton next weekend, do come join us in sunny Brighton for an extended weekend of 30+ sessions, sprints, maybe a couple of drinks...

Our BAD Ass Drupal Weekender is shaping up to be another corker! I did a push the other day to get people to publish what sessions they are going to do and had a fantastic response - we now have 15 sessions proposed, including one which will be via the interwebs from Austin, TX.

Are you a PR person? Do you work with a PR person? Do you know a PR person who is connected in the Brighton area?

Let me know thanks, need to spread the word a little wider and even though it's late in the day for this year it's good to get the word out and make connections for future events.

With less than three weeks to go until our second DrupalCamp in Brighton - a.k.a. BADCampUK - we desperately need more session submissions as there's only 3, with over 20 attendees signed up.

"Organise earlier!" I hear you say. Well, yes, that's the plan, but things as they are this is how it is. I created this second camp as I want to align our camp with the yearly Brighton Digital Festival (http://2012.brightondigitalfestival.co.uk/) so that it raises the profile within the digital community at large and not just the Drupalers.

With less than three weeks to go until BADCampUK we have only 3 submitted sessions, one of them mine :D

Please over the next day or two submit sessions - doesn't have to be a lot of detail, just an overview. It would be great to see all the Drupal people in Brighton do sessions and show how big Drupal already is in Brighton and connect the community together, and with those who are interested in what this Drupal thing is.

If I had money, I'd offer bribes, but I don't so I won't.

With our next BAD Ass Camp fast approaching I thought it might be a good idea for us to have our own IRC channel so I set up #drupal-brighton.

I'm logged into IRC most days so if you're around pop in say lo!

I also set up a new group where I'm posting what I'm up to each day. There's no rules, so random stuff welcome.

As with Drupal itself, there is never one answer for what type of events we need for Drupal. Then there's timing - some people can't make Mondays, some can't make evenings, etc. I'm a great believer in what one of the Drupal London guys said in Munich about having more, smaller events. That doesn't mean we shouldn't have the big ones too, but we can achieve more being small pieces loosely joined.

As you've no doubt seen I managed to make some time last week to get the http://BADCampUK.net site up and running with session submissions and tickets. Apart from that, I've booked http://theskiff.org and asked the Student Room if they are able to let us use their offices on the Saturday for another session room and a couple of spaces for BoF sessions, which would be nice.

The Brighton Digital Festival (http://2012.brightondigitalfestival.co.uk/) is on again this year and have extended deadline for entries for a week.

I'd previously tweeted that we were going to do it on the weekend of 21/22/23 September as this was in line with the next Drupal Global Training Days (we missed the first as I was in Portland) but I've since found out that the GTD is actually 14th - not sure if that was changed recently or I read the wrong thing.
