Hi,
Does anyone have any experience implementing address verification on user registration forms?
It seems the go is to utilise a 3rd party tool.
I've found a recommendation for http://www.qas-experian.com.au/address-verification-for-websites.htm
Is this the best way to go?
Has anyone had any experience with QAS Experian or a similar service?
Thanks!

Generally we found that this
Generally we found that this was the way to go, however we were never truly happy with how it worked (accuracy etc was good, so perhaps it was our implementation just made it difficult for people to get right). We were using it outside of Drupal (unfortunately in OSCommerce) - so have little experience with it inside Drupal.
We have an Australia Post
We have an Australia Post Certified Address validation system and would be interested in working with you to deliver a solution that meets your requirements. We do have a published address validation API that you may be interested in.
Check us out at http://www.datablue.com.au
You will find we are very proactive in working with our development partners.
QAS is horrifically
QAS is horrifically expensive, just use the Google Places API.
Google Places API does not
Google Places API does not provide real validation. It uses 'best guess" to ascertain if a locality exists.
The only way to currently validate that an address physically exists and can be delivered to is to implement a 3rd party solution that utilizes the Australia Post Postal Address File (PAF) - or you could try and license it yourself ($$$) and build the matching logic to meets Australia Post AMAS Requirements.
Not all Address validation solutions are "horrifically expensive" - just look around, I think you will be surprised. Again, Check out our offering.
