Call for dev rooms Fosdem 2013

Fosdem launched its call for developer rooms for Fosdem 2013 (taking place 2 & 3 februari 2011 in Brussels).

The deadline for the proposal will be October 1, 2012.

I shall post a draft for our application below in the comments.

In the Drupal & friends devroom there will be talks about the latest developments in Drupal and other open source CMS-es (OSCMS).
Presentations will cover such topics as:
* Drupal 8
* Configuration management
* Symfony
* Communication with other platforms (services)
* The mobile web
The devroom will be organized by the members of the Drupal community that organized the Drupal devroom at earlier FOSDEMs.
We hope to interest other OSCMS projects to participate. We hope the Fosdem organizers can help us contacting other OSCMS proejcts.

The organizers of Fosdem announce the dev rooms mid october.

So, cross fingers & sit tight (& clear cache, of course).

Hi Boris,

I'm sorry to inform you that we declined your devroom proposal.

To clarify, your request was perfectly valid, but we had to choose. Unfortunately we do not have a sufficient number of rooms at our disposal to cover all requests.

Nevertheless, there are other ways to participate in FOSDEM too. A call for participation will be announced around next week, with opportunities to:
- have a stand at FOSDEM,
- hold a 15 minute 'lightningtalk' in one of the biggest rooms,
- speak in one of the other devrooms.

Very unfortunate indeed. If Drupal doesn't get devrooms, then what will? Maybe they prefer to give devrooms to projects that don't have as much camps and conferences?

True, and we can still have a sprint & a beer (which was the original goal).

To propose to other devrooms and lightning talks ("Drupal 8 in 15 minutes") we need to wait their announcements.

What do you propose to do at a stand?
