Hi Aussie Drupalers,
I'm an old-school web designer, turned Wordpress tragic, that now finds herself wrangling a team of volunteers on a Drupal project. Woohoo! We've made great progress on the project so far, but are now looking for a bit of extra help, so I thought I'd put the word out here (hope that's ok).
ABOUT US...
Project Australia, a not-for-profit organisation helping people get their socially-focussed ideas off the ground - http://www.projectaustralia.org.au. At the moment the work is volunteer only, but this may change in the future.
WHERE WE'RE AT...
Functionality is pretty well specified and documented.
We've got Drupal up and running. Sign up, and ideas submission are pretty much done.
Modules in use so far include stuff like Organic groups, Panels, Location, Google Maps.
NEXT...
The next phase is setting up some simple project management to help the groups develop the ideas into project plans and submit to Project Australia for review. We're looking at Open Atrium, but also considering a lighter-weight combo of modules. We're also trying to decide whether to host docs locally, or have docs uploaded to a site like Scribd. We're also setting up CiviCRM to deal with communications and promotional mailouts. So any experience in any of these areas would be gold to us.
CAN YOU HELP OUT?
If you're interested in meeting the team and possibly taking on a few Drupal jobs over the next few months?
We'd also welcome any suggestions or comments about our roughly outlined plan for implementing the idea incubation / project management stuff, we'd be most grateful. We've got programming talent, but not so much Drupal experience.

Annette, When you do get
Annette,
When you do get your website running perhaps you could help me in the 'get their socially-focussed ideas off the ground'.
I have created a socially focussed website at http://Humanise.org but have yet to put much time into advertising its existence. The website is Drupal of course.
For my ideas to work it needs advertising but your website isn't working well enough yet to let me add on your 'Post an idea' button.
I'd love to help with your website but while still creating this Humanise.org project, it has to be my first priority. If you have any questions or hit any snags with your Drupal you are welcome to ask me.

You're right, our site is far from up and running. The homepage is just a placeholder right now.
The dev environment is set up for idea submission, but not much else yet.
Thanks for your offer of support, but your project is very important, so I agree you should stay focused on that for now. I'll let you know when it's in beta and maybe you can submit your idea then.
