I've got a suggestion for a

I've got a suggestion for a topic I'd really like to hear about but not one that I'm capable of putting on:

Drupal performance and scalability - how to set up and run Drupal sites with the likes of varnish/memcached, clustering, load balancing, multiple servers, cloud hosting (AWS/OpenStack) etc. and how we can run/test these kind of configurations in the luxury of our own home/work networks that would be great too!

performance/scalability/cloud deployment topics

Great suggestions - I would think any one of those would make for an interesting presentation or presentations, eg you could easily fill an hour on Varnish alone.

Thanks

Thanks, Alastair

Myself and Kim have both offered to give presentations on those topics. It was also briefly mentioned at the last meetup when discussing the rest of the year, but we don't have it scheduled yet. I'll keep you in the loop when we do schedule though, otherwise keep watching the meetups.

Module Menus

Next month?

HI Peter,

I'm not sure if you're coming tonight. Can you do this as a short talk next month?

I should be able to give a

I should be able to give a short talk on high-resolution web graphics - sort of a more general web talk, but might be useful for folks.

content!

Still riding the high of the content authoring track, I'd be happy to do a 5-minute sales pitch on why developers should care about content. And no, not because it's 'the right thing to do' (which it is), but because it's in your best interest!

I can give a lightning talk on varnish

Revised agenda

gollyg's picture

Hey Ryan,

I don't think that the agenda has been revised yet. I think it would be good to kick it off with a discussion of what has been brought up in the linked post. We can try to keep it nice and short.

Not tonight

Hi James, we already had a public discussion on this topic at the last meeting so I don't think we should do it again this month.

I will post details for an organisers meetup where people interested can come discuss details.

I'll put Pam and Kim on the agenda for lighting talks tonight. Thanks!

In your agenda at the top of

In your agenda at the top of the page it says:

I'll revise the agenda over the weekend to reflect discussion points for the group based on the thread at http://groups.drupal.org/node/282043

I think that is what James was referring to. There are new discussions that have occurred at http://groups.drupal.org/node/282043 that wouldn't have been discussed at your last meeting.

Great Meetup

I really liked the new venue (Fishburners) and I enjoyed the discussion which was prompted by some of the ideas posted in this thread: What are your ideas on the current meetup structure?

During that discussion there were quite a few people who expressed interest in helping to organise the meetups and diversify the organising group. @rcross made mention of an organisers meeting to be held at some point this week, so if you were one of the people who said you were interested check out this thread Sydney Organisers Meeetup.
