Topics/Presentations
We'll have at least one short session along with networking and problem-solving:
1) Mapping in Drupal 7 with Geofield*: Geofield is a module for storing geographic data in Drupal 7. It supports all geo-types (points, lines, polygons, multitypes etc.). It's great for creating simple maps and integrates with OpenLayers to create more complicated maps.
2) Problem Solving: Please bring a question/issue you've ran across in the past month, or something cool/amazing they've discovered in the past month. If you have a specific, complex issue be prepared to stay a little later and be paired with an individual who can help you.
- I was sick for last month's meeting, so we'll actually cover mapping at this meeting.

I am in
Hi All,
I will be there Thursday, April 4, 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Seacoast Meetup.
I have a few technical questions regarding my website http://www.1aholdings.com - I am using the webform module and would like to extend functionality to the module.
If you visit the site you will see the web form on the right column with a blue background.
I would like to use placeholder elements in the form fields so that when the user looks at the form fields - user will see default values, then user clicks into the form field the default value disappears for the users input values.
I would like to validate the required form fields with something more fancy then Drupal's default notification that the required form field is empty.
I am using the Omega HTML 5 responsive theme.
Any help from the NH Drupal community will be much appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

Webform default value
Select the webform, form components tab. Hover over the field and click the pencil to configure. On the Properties tab, just below the title, there is a field for the default value.
Thanks RIPNH however that is
Thanks RIPNH however that is not the solution, I tried that and the default value will remain and not clear once user clicks into the form field or starts to enter data.
I want to accomplish for example the search functionality in Drupal Groups.
I am thinking the solution will be to edit either my theme template.php file or edit the file webform-form.tpl.php file which would be located in my theme /templates directory.
I have found some code snippets online when searching "drupal webform placeholder attribute" with Google however when I try that in the above files I either get the white screen of death or nothing happens because I cant seem to edit the code correctly.

two possible solutions
Hi Johnny,
this post http://drupal.org/node/1068726 mentions two possible solutions. The module may not be exactly what your looking for, but it's worth checking out. I didn't test the code snippet, but it looks sane. The posts mentions adding it to the webform template, but you could instead add a Markup component and place it there.
The validation requires writing a custom module. I should be attending the meeting and we can talk about that part.

Hi Mike, Thanks for the link

If any one else has any comments on this subject it would be great.
Thanks all.

Compact Forms
Hi Mike - I visited the link you recommended and added the Compact Forms module. It worked almost flawlessly, I had to add a text input = email to the module file compact_forms.js to get the email field working. I found the solution on http://drupal.org/node/1459346
Thanks again.

Typo
Hi Johny,
I don't have the answer to you're question, but wanted to point our the typo in the form title. Should be "We're friendly" instead of "Were friendly".

Johnny, I can help you write
Johnny, I can help you write a few lines of jQuery next Thursday that will easily accomplish number 1.
For number 2, I've used the Webform Validation module with success in the past. You can see if meets your needs: http://drupal.org/project/webform_validation .
It's Restaurant Week in Portsmouth
Just in case you and your S.O. want to catch a good dinner after our meetup, you should know that it is Restaurant Week in Portsmouth right now. This means fixed-price meals at many eateries. See http://www.portsmouthchamber.org/restaurantweek.cfm.
