should I use the Salesforce Suite (Drupal), Salesforce Communities? Red Hen? Springboard?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I am the IT Administrator at Carolina Tiger Rescue, a wildcat sanctuary in NC. I'm currently looking to revise our existing site as a Drupal site, and we use Salesforce as our CRM.

There's a lot that of crossover that could help us:

  1. Login - we could offer different views/permissions to our website visitors based on Salesforce Contact values- (e.g.- volunteers would have access to volunteer documentation, members could access coupon codes, expiration information). We also have a 3rd party online store with its own login and I would like our users to only need one.

  2. Digital Tour Check-In

Tour guests could use their mobile phone or a check-in station onsite when they arrive for a tour (via a web wizard form), reducing necessary volunteer time to type in handwritten forms, also improving data quality.

  1. Manage subscription settings - (we use SF contacts much more than leads, so web-to-lead form is impractical)

  2. Signups for campaigns- we would be able to send emails where users could sign up for campaigns automatically

With the above functionality needs. how would these options compare for ease of setup, cost, ease of management?

Salesforce Suite and SF Webform data integration (Drupal), Salesforce Communities, Red Hen, Springboard

gratefully, Amanda

using Salesforce Community:
Pros:
- building on Salesforce (no integration)
- Faster development
- No need to manage another middleware

Cons:
- Licensing costs (portals have a per user fee)
- Sometimes not as end user flexible
