Drupal 8 includes core support for Symfony's template engine Twig. Transitioning to Twig gives the Drupal community a great opportunity to focus on theming best practices, ensuring the themes we make are easy to maintain and elegant. This presentation will explore changes to the theme layer in Drupal 8, Twig's syntax and lightweight approaches to building a theme in Drupal 7 and 8.
